  • The Human Resource Director is directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination and evaluation of the human resources function.
  • Direct and monitor the employment and recruitment process to source, recruit, hire and retain qualified staff.
  • Develop Human Resources policies, procedures and programs.
  • Ensure compliance with all employment laws and regulations.
  • Manage employee relations issues, coordinating with legal counsel on all related issues and litigations.
  • Provide support, professional recommendation, and guidance to managers and employees on various employee issues.
  • Advise managers and employees in the interpretation of Agency policies.
  • Research, analyze, and make recommendations pertaining to compensation, employee related issues, benefits and other HR matters.
  • Develop and implement HR strategies and systems that positively influence and support the operations and growth objective of SGA.
  • Oversee benefit administration of Group Benefits (Health, Dental, Vision, Life, 403(b) etc.).
  • Coordinate payroll and time keeping system.
  • Engage in effective communication processes with employees.
  • Maintain Workers Compensation and Unemployment Claims.
  • Manage vender relationships to effectively provide payroll, compensation and benefit administration.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field required, related Master’s degree preferred.

Experience:

  • Seven to ten years of proven Human Resources experience.
  • Experience working with an HRIS system (Paylocity, ADP, etc.).

Other:

  • Sensitivity to cultural diversity is required. Ability to communicate and cooperate with diverse families, various professionals and community groups.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).


Key Competencies:

  • Competent in Microsoft Office tools and inputting services in an online database.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.


Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain stationary 50% of the time.
  • Must be able frequently move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
  • Occasionally ascends/descends stairs.
  • At times may be required to lift up to 25 lbs. for various classrooms and events needs.
