Job Purpose:

This position within Contract Administration’s Filing Oversight and Regulatory Compliance team is responsible for drafting and filing regulatory insurance documents for benefit booklets and ancillary forms. This position is also responsible for coordinating the production of documents. The Filing Oversight and Regulatory Compliance team supports group and retail market segments.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for using the System for Electronic Rate and Form Filing (SERFF) to file required documents with the appropriate regulatory agency
  • Draft standard, non-standard, and custom contract language
  • Handle written and verbal inquiries from regulatory agencies regarding pending filed documents
  • Coordinate change requests coming from internal operational departments related to filed documents
  • Collaborate with internal subject matter experts to translate business needs into new or revised benefit language
  • Partner with legal to conduct research as requested
  • Attend meetings with senior level staff members and represent the team
  • Prepare responses to comments/questions from Account Managers, brokers, consultants, or clients resulting from booklet draft review
  • Review and analyze incoming regulations and mandates that impact employer and member documents
  • Develop and maintain procedures and processes for team


Required Job Qualifications:

*        Bachelor degree or 4 years work experience in a position involving independent judgement and initiative

*        1 year experience and skills in drafting and filing, or insurance compliance

*        Experience working with System for Electronic Rate and Form Filing (SERF) or other filing systems

*        Experience in deadline driven environment and completing tasks on time

*        Proficient across Microsoft Office tools

*        Knowledge of health insurance contracts and/or self-funded contracts

*        Knowledge of group and individual health insurance and dental products

*        Verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with key stakeholders across levels of the organization

*        Occasional travel is required


Preferred Job Qualifications:

*        Experience with task management tools (e.g. JIRA)
