Private  family seeks a highly efficient Estate Manager / Chief of Staff to oversee maintenance and operations across multiple venues, as well as seamlessly manage domestic staff across the properties. Ideal candidate will have a strong background of private home management, VIP service and hospitality. This position is for a smart, hardworking and flexible candidate who can clearly and effectively communicate in a respectful and fast-paced working environment.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Develop and manage personal services company for domestic staff of CEO under Principals’ direction
• Manage day-to-day household functions of several residences
• Be able to lead and manage domestic staff including: Property Managers, Housekeepers, Personal Assistant and Childcare
• Liaison between principals and domestic staff and delegate accordingly
• Suggest new ideas, more efficient ways of doing things and establish best practices and create systems and processes.
• Implement and manage HR for domestic staff including: recruiting, training and development, performance reviews, staff schedules, benefits and compensation and maintain confidential records
• Develop and implement company policies and employee manuals
• Act as Principals’ representative for major construction and renovation projects
• Attend events/meetings as the principals’ representative
• Create and oversee monthly and annual budgets for each home and provide reports
• Review and authorize household bills and vendor selection
• Identify, research, and negotiate on principals’ behalf large purchases such as watercraft and vehicles
• Oversee events including large personal celebrations for adults and children, charity events, and domestic staff events
• Research and development for special projects


• 4 year degree from an accredited College or University
• Minimum of 10+ years related experience providing Personal Service to private family in a similar role/capacity
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Creative and intuitive in problem-solving; extremely resourceful
• Exceptional organizational and multi-tasking skills; strong follow-up and attention to detail
• Ability to remain calm and composed during demanding periods – “thick skinned” personality with a strong sense of urgency
• “Hands-on”, proactive, motivated with a “can do” attitude
• Ability to adapt to different situations and relationships - a fast learner
• Proactive about most efficient and proper ways to run a household under the Principal’s direction
• Comfortable working in a home with both children and pets – no allergies to dogs
• Willing and able to work long hours and overtime as needed; 24/7 availability via blackberry and cell phone
• Valid Driver’s License; confident driver with zero points; OK to drive children
• Valid Passport; willing and able to travel with the family as needed to secondary residences in NY, NJ and the Hamptons
