The Regional AEI Reliability Engineer is responsible to develop and execute Regional Automation, Electrical or Instrumentation (AEI) projects and/or AEI functions to support reliable, safe and efficient plant production within CSSTNA. Work can involve more complicated control strategies, electrical power distribution and instrumentation. Responsible for development and management of the design and operational requirements for the functional area, ensuring compliance with CSST Group & corporate standards. Responsible for managing/reviewing bid package development and contractor selection. Actively involved in electrical and contractor safety programs. Be a regional leader to help champion initiatives to improve business performance and facility culture across CSSTNA.

Principal Accountabilities

40% Lead and Support Reliability Centered Design
• Lead and Establish Safety improvements, adherence to standards and codes within CSSTNA.
• Support and coordinate the development of effective approach to identify, monitor and implement best practices
• Deploy leading best practices to mitigate safety and reliability risks
• Apply in depth Automation, Electrical or Instrumentation knowledge to support design and build of safe plants and operations

25% Set strategy and execute AEI regional projects and initiatives
• Develop cost projections, schedule projections, staffing or resource plans, scope control, and evaluation or
• incorporation of new technologies as they become available
• Execute complex AEI initiatives (multiple sites) with collaboration of a network of SME’s across CSSTNA sites
• Establish and implement compliance and audit governance and deploy corporate benchmarking metrics and performance measurements

20% Provide Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls Support
• Deliver expertise for capital projects and process improvements which includes approving management of change proposals.
• Participate and determine the root causes of AEI failures and drive permanent solutions, working with maintenance and reliability team.
• Provide day to day technical and engineering support to solve complex problems within Automation, Electrical or Instrumentation
• Facilitate and support electrical safety training by collaborating with the Health and Safety Teams at the CSSTNA sites

10% Work and collaborate with corporate, group, regional and local site resources
• Develop and implement CSST Regional & Group and corporate standards
• Support local sites as needed to meet business goals
• Provide onsite or remote assistance and guidance during annual plant shutdowns

5% Any other duties as assigned
