Senior Communications Specialist

Corps Team, Charlotte North Carolina

A large financial services company is seeking an experienced Senior Communications Specialist for a 6+ months contract assignment. This position will be remote but must be located in the Charlotte area.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Plan and execute messaging that reflects corporate strategies and Client Services &Technology (CS&T) priorities
  • Manages discussions and offers strategic advice to Retail Client Services (RCS) and Operations leadership 
  • Drives maximum impact and message absorption, using simple, clear language
  • Reports to a Senior Director, CS&T Communications team Responsibilities 
  • Build an understanding of the 11 teams that form RCS
  • Conduct interviews with managing directors and program leaders
  • Update existing communication plan and contribute solutions to internal needs
  • Offer advice to leaders and effective partnering with Business Management team
  • Provide appropriate clarity, consistency and tone to all messages, linking to the company' s strategic priorities 
  • Develop content for internal articles, announcements, newsletters, websites, slide presentations, emails, video scripts and other communication artifacts
  • Post RCS content in the My News section of the intranet
  • Collect metrics to assess project effectiveness 
  • Collaborate with other internal groups as necessary, including Corporate Communications, Media Relations, Marketing, Compliance and Legal teams
  • Adhere to brand guidelines and legal/compliance processes

  • A communications  professional with 5-7 years’ experience
  • A skilled writer who understands the internal audience, developing projects from concept to delivery
  • A self-starter and positive team player who can flex when priorities change and who contributes to the team’ s overall success 
  • Strategic thinking, excellent writing and professional editing skills required
  • Strong customer service, interpersonal, organizational and time management skills required
  • Financial services experience required
  • Skilled at distilling a message to its most refined state, omitting unnecessary words
  • Able to translate complex information into consumable content for a broad associate audience
  • Experience writing communication plans
  • MS Office, particularly PowerPoint
  • Project management with a focus on details and accuracy
  • Familiarity with AP-style standards a plus
