This position reports to a Supervisor in the Claim Services department.  The department provides critical operations support to Claim Examiners within the Western Claim Service Center.  The responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:  
  • Responsible for communication and collaboration with examiners to provide claims support during the claim file process.  
  • Research, obtain and document claim information to ensure the level of service provided to our customers meets/exceeds service level agreements.
  • Successfully navigate the Claim Workstation to answer customer inquiries and accurately document claim file facts and information.
  • Process financial transactions to include loss and expense payments, stop payments, and voids and re issued payments at the direction of Claims staff.
  • Manage claim file maintenance to include open and close of electronic and hard copy claim files.
  • Handle the transfer, split and or claim file audit pull slips, etc.
  • Electronically process, name & attach scanned documents to the paperless claim file  
  • Process letters, and any related claim forms, communications and or other correspondence
  • Create and maintain technical and productivity logs for the purpose of tracking department results
  • Effectively manage task assistant and workgroups within established service guidelines
  • Efficiently research claim issues to determine appropriate action
  • Recognize, prioritize and escalate severe claims according to escalation guidelines
  • Assist with special projects as required/requested
As needed:
  • Courteously and promptly answering calls received in the Western Claim Service Center from insured’s, claimants, agents and any other parties.
  • Gather the necessary information in a timely manner - accurately enter the first notice of loss information into our IRIS application.
  • Identify those claims that require immediate adjuster or supervisor attention
  • Respond to status and inquiry calls from customers regarding policy and coverage information within authority – appropriately transferring calls without inconveniencing the customer
  • Perform data entry of faxed and Agency eLoss claims, to include most lines of business and loss types, with minimal supervision
  • Ability to shift in high volume environment to assist other units who support Auto, Casualty, Property & Recovery Claims
The ideal candidate should possess: 
  • A customer service focus
  • Be self-motivated and driven to effectively prioritize, manage and process multiple work requests/task
  • Have strong time management skills
  • Solid verbal, written and grammar skills
  • Ability to analyze and provide solutions to solve claim support problems
  • Work well with others within a team environment
  • Prior knowledge of Claims Operations processes and Contact Center operations, theories and practices a plus
  • Knowledge of Outlook & Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe, theories and practices a plus         
  • Knowledge of Industry/support websites; Mitchell, ISO/NICB, PILR,  IAA, Copart, NMVTIS, Arbitration Forum, theories and practices a plus          
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma and or equivalent
