Description
Establish the master schedule in accordance with marketing forecast, manufacturing capacity, vendor capabilities and departmental objectives

Responsibilities
  1. Establish and implement master schedules consistent with product objectives involving products/product lines where planning is routine and risks are moderate. Supervision available to assist on difficult and complex assignments. Convert marketing forecast into the master schedule. Determine manufacturing and vendor capacity constraints. Develop product mix forecast using statistical methods and marketing input
  2. Coordinate master scheduling activities and monitor schedule performance against plan. May provide work direction to master schedule coordinators. Monitor material inputs and backlog activity; identify and resolve current or potential problems. Implement master scheduling policies. Coordinate master scheduling activities on special programs (expedite efforts, special customer requirements, etc.) Publish periodic summary reports. Review results with Senior Master Schedule Planner or Supervisor
  3. Recommends inventory levels required to meet master schedule objectives and service level goals. Evaluate performance to the defined service level/inventory goals. Identifies and recommends disposition of obsolete inventory
  4. Maintains master schedule system to ensure accurate and timely information and resolve problems. May receive assistance on more difficult problems. Inputs changes and review output of master schedule system. Reviews and updates system parameters
  5. Communicates with Marketing, Customer Service and Production Control concerning prioritization and allocation of product to customers to achieve maximum service level, monitors backlog. Participates in negotiations to resolve conflicts concerning priorities and allocations
  6. Supports new product programs; May participate in the development of plans and schedules with Engineering. May participate in planning production support and materials requirements
  7.  Participates in manufacturing system development; Recommends changes and enhancements. May participate in system development teams
