The CPO has three Project Analyst positions with various responsibilities aimed at supporting the CPO's portfolio of projects on an on-going basis. Determination of the individual's position title will be commensurate with their level of expertise in one or more of the associated areas, prior working experience, and job responsibilities/expectations. These positions will be located at either our San Francisco, CA or Cleveland, OH Federal Reserve Bank locations.

    Project Analyst Responsibilities and Desired Skills - All positions:
  • May provide periodic briefings or updates on project status to Senior Leadership.
  • Lead and/or participate in cross-department, cross-functional workgroups as needed.
  • Facilitate process improvement and change management initiatives.
  • Responsible for the creation, maintenance, and distribution of key project materials, metrics, and/or documentation at the direction of the Portfolio Support manager.
  • Become cross-trained on the majority of the Project Analyst duties and responsibilities across the team.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with others, both inside of the team and across the organization.

Project Analyst #1: Project Methodology and Compliance
  • Serves as the central point of contact for National Cash Automation's project management methodologies. Ensures that documents within the methodology are up to date, accurate, and stored appropriately.
  • Reviews existing active projects on a prescribed basis to ensure that the projects are being managed according to National Cash Automation's established System-wide methodologies.
  • Proactively recommends changes or updates to the methodologies to keep NCA in-line with industry or Bank best practices, and/or to address pain points being experience by NCA.
  • Communicates any changes to the methodology to the all NCA staff and management
  • Provides regular, on-going communication on project status to the NCA staff and management as needed.
  • Provides Project Manager(s) with accurate, timely and thorough recommendations on the steps needed to bring projects back into compliance.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the steps and processes outlined in the COSO guidelines are being applied appropriately across all projects.
  • Serves as the central point of contact for NCA records retention, ensuring that records are maintained appropriately in accordance with Federal Reserve Bank guidelines and recommends corrective actions as necessary.
  • Evaluates the communication and project documentation practices across the portfolio of NCA projects to identify areas of opportunity where changes could be made to make the organization more efficient.
  • Documents and communicates recommendations to NCA management on process improvement opportunities as they are identified.

Project Analyst #2: Risk and Communications
  • Serves as the central point of contact for Risk Management on behalf of National Cash Automation.
  • Interfaces with each program and project team to ensure that risks are being documented, mitigated and followed up on, on a regular basis.
  • Communicates and educates the project teams on Risk Management methodologies and how to apply them to their projects.
  • Serves as the owner of the Risk Management process, and ensures that NCA's Risk Management processes and procedures are effective and kept up to date with industry best standards and practices.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the steps and processes outlined in the Security Assurance for the Federal Reserve (SAFR) guidelines are being applied appropriately across all projects.
  • Provides Project Manager(s) and the NCA management/Senior Leadership team with accurate, timely and thorough recommendations on the steps needed to bring projects back into compliance with SAFR guidelines.
  • Responsible for collecting, consolidating and summarizing Program and Project status updates on an on-going basis.
  • Utilizing these statuses, will draft summary communications for various stakeholder groups, including EAG, PSG, CAG and others.
  • Establish and maintain a Stakeholder Calendar to track the creation and review of stakeholder communications, prior to their submission to the appropriate group members.
  • Establish and implement an efficient means by which to gather Program and Project statuses on a regular basis to ensure timely and accurate information, while reducing the need for duplicative work performed by the project teams for the various updates.
  • Establishes, owns and implements the creation and maintenance of any status dashboards that are needed or requested by NCA Management or Senior Leadership.
  • Provides Project Manager(s) and the NCA management/Senior Leadership team with accurate, timely and thorough recommendations on the steps needed to bring projects back into compliance with COSO guidelines.

    Project Analyst #3: Knowledge Management

  • Responsible for establishing and implementing an official Lessons Learned process on behalf of National Cash Automation that will help capture changes or updates that need to be applied to future projects.
  • Establish and facilitate "communities of practice" within the organization to help solve institutional issues/problems, develop expertise in specific skills or areas and/or share information and experiences across the department and organization.
  • Develop and maintain an application "Ecosystem" summary for each of the NCA owned applications that outlines the technical and business aspects of the application. From the technical side, it will cover what each application is built on from a code and technological perspective, which version each piece of the technology is on, when support for those versions ends, and what the dependencies are between the applications. From the business side, the "Ecosystem" will outline a history of changes to each application, along with a listing of the existing backlog of future enhancements that are planned for the application.
  • Ensure that the CPO Roadmap is kept up to date, including gathering the necessary information from all project teams heading into Roadmap update meetings.
  • Responsible for the creation and maintenance of a "Differences Document" that will be used by project teams to summarize and highlight the changes being made in an application release. This document will identify changes to the software, along with how those changes will impact various stakeholder groups, such as Training, Implementation and Readiness, Customer Support, and the Cash offices.
  • Assist in the creation of presentations and communications aimed at our external stakeholders on an as needed basis.
  • Serve as the central point of contact for CPO face to face meeting/event design, coordination and planning.
  • Serve as the central point of contact as admin over the Risk Radar, ALM, DMS, Version One, and other applications.
  • Perform periodic access reviews on behalf of NCA as needed to ensure the appropriate individuals are assigned to the appropriate roles and groups.

  • Bachelors' degree or equivalent work experience:
    • Project Analyst I (nonexempt): Bachelor's degree or 3+ years of equivalent work experience
    • Project Analyst II or Senior Project Analyst (exempt): Bachelor's degree or 5+ years of equivalent
