Our Financial Management Group is seeking an individual to join their Accounts Payable section as an Accountant. This position offers applicants with demonstrated financial accounting, reporting and communication skills the opportunity to support an organization through relevant business process, analytical, and technology focused assignments.
Responsibilities may include several or all of the following:
Responsible for processing and reviewing employee and vendor payments, journal entries, and financial data within the Accounts Payable section of the Financial Management Group.
Collects, prepares, sorts, enters, analyzes, and balances data processed into the appropriate accounting system in compliance with accounting procedures and policies. Verifies that data is accurate, properly recorded, and authorized in accordance with Bank policies and procedures.
Researches and resolves all discrepancies between the different accounting systems. Identifies data sources, analyzes, and verifies accuracy of data. Initiates and/or prepares adjusting entries as necessary.
Assists in testing, modifying, and enhancing existing and new accounting systems, as assigned.
Responds to and resolves general to complex inquiries and requests from various Federal Reserve System internal and external customers requiring initiative and judgment. Follows established procedures to provide answers and resolve problems of varying complexity, escalating as appropriate.
Meets established quality measures for accuracy, timeliness and completeness. Utilizes multiple software applications to retrieve, interpret and convey relevant customer information.
Supports and assists customers with understanding of System policies and procedures.
Ensures that transactions conform to generally accepted accounting principles, Federal Reserve System's Financial Accounting Manual, PACS Manual, Custody Control Principles and Standards and Bank policies.
Writes clear and comprehensive correspondence, documentation and procedures to be used by management and staff.
Initiates daily jobs and distribute reports.
Files documentation properly and assists with special projects.
Performs other duties as assigned.
