Director Quality & Product Safety

Job Summary:

  • The duties will be to assist Sensient locations with best practices, standardization, maintenance and coordination of Quality Control, Quality Assurance and Product Safety Systems.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Drive process improvement initiatives throughout the organization to achieve plan level KPI's.

  • Lead customer and government agency audits.

  • Lead formal root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.

  • Develop and implement policies, procedures and methods to improve the quality of products, material and/or operations.

  • Provide guidance and mentoring to the Quality Leaders at the manufacturing sites / BU's.

  • Coach team members on performance, complete employee performance reviews, make merit recommendations and participate in recruitment.

  • Any other duties or responsibilities required based on specific needs of BU's

    Education & Experience:

  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (Chemistry, Microbiology, Biochemistry or Food Science). Master's or PhD degree is preferred.

  • Certification in Six Sigma or related methodology.

  • 10 years of Product Safety and Quality Assurance experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Supervisor and managerial experience required.

  • Experience in food manufacturing operations, sanitation and environmental monitoring required.

    Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to collaborate with peers within and across BU's to set priorities and achieve goals.

  • Ability to develop and adhere to budget for the department.

  • Applied knowledge of HACCP, HACCP auditor certification a plus

  • In depth knowledge of new FSMA Rules, PCQI certificate a plus

  • Practical knowledge and compliance requirements of GFSI certification schemes

  • Experience in Quality Control laboratory testing, method validation and measurement system analysis
