The NGPF Program Management Organization is responsible for making sound business & program decisions to develop Geared Turbo Fan engines and successfully bring these products to market on-time and on-budget.
In support of the Embraer E175-E2 Aircraft, Pratt & Whitney is developing the PW1700G engine. The aircraft is scheduled for First Flight in early 2019 and Revenue Service in 2020.

The PW1700G Program Team is seeking a highly-motivated individual for the position of Model Manager to support the development of the engine and entry into service. The Model Manager serves as the deputy Program Manager and is responsible for driving cost, schedule and technical performance across a large cross-functional organization. The Model Manager has the unique opportunity to work with many organizations across Pratt & Whitney to achieve these objectives. This will include close interaction with P&W's senior leadership, engineering, quality, operations, and finance organizations as well as customer representatives. Experience with Budget Management and Engineering is critical to successful performance in this role.

General responsibilities include:
  • Lead world-class Integrated Program Management Team processes including Monthly Program Reviews to ensure ACE Gold performance
  • Managing total E&D budget to meet annual targets including development of annual program plans, waterline evaluations of scope, allocation to the CIPTs, and identifying risks & opportunities
  • Setting and defining Level 1 milestones to meet program goals and customer requirements
  • Leading a team of CIPT leaders, in conjunction with the Program Chief Engineer, to plan and execute program tasks including defining work scope, development of detailed schedules and associated estimates.
  • Managing monthly budget Estimate At Completion (EAC) and Monthly Management Letter estimates with Finance group
  • Jointly developing integrated schedules with Embraer and CIPTs
  • Develop 10-year budget forecasts that support long-term program objectives and customer requirements
  • Teaming with the PW1700G Program Manager, Contracts Business Manager, Customer Integration Manager and supporting P&W as necessary to lead a successful development program

    Qualifications Basic Qualifications:
    BS in an engineering discipline with 7+ years' work experience OR
    MBA + BS engineering discipline with 5+ years' work experience

    Preferred Qualifications:

    MBA
    7+ years of engineering experience with a strong track record of demonstrated leadership and teaming skills
    Budget Management and Engineering experience is critical
    Demonstrated use of project management skills and organization skills
    Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of Pratt & Whitney
    Strong engine technical knowledge
    Ability to adapt to rapidly shifting priorities

    Education BS degree in an engineering discipline
