Senior Market Development Specialist - Evidence Generation


Position Description:

The Sr. Market Development Specialist on the Evidence Generation Marketing Team will partner with procedural leaders, Regulatory, Clinical, Office of Medical Affairs, Research and Development, Healthcare Economics, and global regional experts to identify evidence needs by stakeholder and generate objective and measurable data and messaging to support the business goals.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develops comprehensive, multi-year strategies to collect, document, and communicate product and/or procedural evidence demonstrating a value proposition across the product/procedure lifecycle
    • Serves as a trusted business partner by displaying high levels of clinical understanding and a strong working knowledge of the published literature for the targeted spine therapies.
    • Leads development of evidence strategies for targeted spine therapies (Tumor/Trauma, Anterior Lateral, Enabling Technologies)
    • Develops clinically relevant marketing claims, identifies strategy to support claims
    • Generates clear, crisp, on-label, evidence-backed impactful messaging for each new product/procedural launch and/or targeted released products/procedures to support life-cycle management.
    • Develop clinical and/or economic-based marketing collateral and/or training and education materials for dissemination
    • Conducts scientific literature reviews in support of market development and market messaging
    • Develops an evidence plan, executes to that plan and modifies as needed
    • Oversees the collection of the appropriate evidence and monitors adherence to timelines and budgets
    • Reviews publication strategies and ensures marketing strategies are appropriately considered.
    • Operates as a scientific liaison between Regulatory Affairs, Medical Affairs, Clinical and procedural marketing teams.
  • Interfaces with representatives from key functional groups including Statistics, Clinical, Quality, Reimbursement, Regulatory Affairs, Marketing, Medical Education, Medical Affairs, Legal, International Clinical Research Groups, and Product Development (as needed).
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams (i.e. Clinical, HES) to develop the appropriate plan for collecting the data
  • Works with health care professionals and associated procedural leaders to better understand clinical outcome needs and non-clinical data required to support key marketing messages
    • Leads discussions around evidence needs, gaps
    • Identifies the right evidence development approach by stakeholder
    • Updates and communicate medical evidence assessment and gap analysis.
  • Provides input for broader therapy strategy as required by therapy marketing partners
  • Can simplify complex information to effectively communicate with business partners that do not possess the same technical expertise.
  • May provide input and support for launch, education, and marketing of products.
  • Serves as Subject Matter Expert related to clinical and non-clinical evidence around targeted therapies
  • Travel requirement: 20-30%

Must Haves: Minimum Qualifications
(must be evident on your resume)

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing or related scientific field
  • 4+ years of related experience, 2+ with a Master's degree
  • Experience with technical writing such as clinical study plans, clinical reports, scientific manuscripts and/or clinical evidence reports
  • Experience in publication planning and assessing medical evidence.
  • Experience with project management related tools (ex. MS Project)
  • Experience with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and familiarity with web-based applications.
