SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Perform various duties under minimum supervision concerning the visual, dimensional, functional and physical testing of products/ components in accordance with approved sampling plans, Master Inspection, inspection plans, and Characteristics and Departmental Standard Operating Procedures. All job functions must be performed to ensure a safe and effective quality product to the customer.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform visual, dimensional, functional and physical testing of components/products using various types of measuring instruments and equipment.

  • Read and interpret complex blueprints and specifications as required.

  • Perform duties in accordance with current departmental operating procedures, Plant safety procedures and PPE requirements. Participate in safety training and the QA safety team.

  • Review vendor/manufacturing traceability (where applicable), on manufacturing processes, Incoming documentation and in the operational computer system.

  • Record inspection results in the operational computer system.

  • Set-up and calibrate various types of measuring instruments and equipment as needed.

  • Review SPC /vendor Inspect data (Histogram, P Charts, Attribute sheets) where applicable, to insure product is acceptable within SPC guidelines, material specifications and supplier control plans, report all discrepancies.

    DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC/NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:)

  • Other duties as assigned with or without accommodation.

    ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS/SCOPE:

  • Reports directly to Quality Assurance Lab Tech III, Lab Tech IV, QA TechIV, Sr Tech.

  • Reports indirectly to the QA Supervisor

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    Knowledge or equivalent training required to perform position duties:

  • High School diploma

  • Good organizational skills.

  • The ability to read, write and understand the English language (bi-lingual a plus).

    Other qualifications:

  • Knowledge of varied computer applications, including those specific to the Manufacturing Operations information systems.

    Skills: Fluent in English and detail oriented. Ability to use a variety of measuring and test equipment.
