ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Dishes all cold food items including salads and desserts for patients. Assembles patient trays for each meal on tray line. Performs cooking duties of 1st and 2nd cook as necessary. Serves late trays to patients and outpatients. Delivers carts to and from the Med/Surg floor. Delivers trays to patient rooms. Assists patients with tray set up as needed. Assists patients with menu orders. Communicates with nursing personnel when needed regarding diet orders and menu orders. Cleans and restocks food carts and work area following each meal service. Recovers dirty trays from patient rooms. Washes dishes and cleans dish room after each use. Sanitizes food carts after each use. Follows hospital and department policies and procedures. Follows safety and sanitation rules and takes appropriate safety precautions when performing tasks. Stocks shelves when supplies are delivered. Sets up and delivers to meetings, special luncheons and dinners. Makes coffee and helps serve employees during breakfast, lunch and supper. Maintains patient confidentiality at all times, discussing patient or hospital business only with immediate supervisor as needed. Employs tact and courtesy at all times, with patients, physicians, visitors and co-workers. Continually strives to establish and maintain good rapport and working relationships to foster positive intra- and interdepartmental communications. Actively participates in the HRRMC departmental strategic plan.
