Vision CMM Programmer / Metrology Technician

Job Summary: The Vision CMM Programmer/Metrology Technician is responsible for inspecting/qualifying a variety of products to drawing specifications using Measure X and MeasureMind Software, reporting the findings per AS9102 and other relevant formats. Require exposure to information which is subject to US export control regulations, i.e. the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Essential Job Responsibilities: Creates CMM programs using advanced knowledge and application of CMM Programming skills. Conducts First Article, In-Process, and Final inspections, generating reports utilizing AS9102 FAIR format. Reviews associated documentation for completeness and accuracy. Works with appropriate personnel to arrange for disposition of non-conforming products. Uses other IM&TEs as applicable during the inspection process. Performs other metrology duties as assigned. Applies concepts of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances (GD&T) to determine part compliance to the drawing. Works from complex part/fixture drawings, specifications, and other reference materials to determine dimensional requirements. Leads efforts in continuous improvement of CMM Programs with regard to efficiency and accuracy through the practical application of proper measurement techniques for part features. Performs Gage Reliability and Repeatability (GR&R) as needed. Provides training on CMM Operation as needed to support production and development needs. Flexibility to work up to 2 hrs OT during weekdays and 6 hrs. OT on Saturdays, as needed. Required Education and Experience Associate Degree or equivalent experience. Minimum 1 year experience working with Measure-X and MeasureMind software. Experience documenting FA inspection reports in AS9102 format. Required Skills Ability to effectively communicate technical information verbally and in writing (English) with others at all levels of the organization, as well as customers and suppliers. Strong math and analytical skills. Ability to understand / interpret different types of drawings and GD&T concepts. Proficient in MS Excel and Word software and use of a PC. Strong decision making skills. Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality at all times. Ability to plan and organize work activities with a focus on efficiency. Ability to work under time constraints with shifting priorities. Ability to function effectively with minimal supervision in a high involvement, team oriented work atmosphere, coordinating work with peers, supervisors and customers.
