Job purpose

The Facilities/Maintenance position works in support of the store leadership team to receive, store, stock, and arrange merchandise displays to attract customers. In addition, the Facilities/Maintenance position facilitates the completion of all store level tasks and performs a variety of tasks related to different areas of the store including customer service, general housekeeping, and other related functions. The Facilities/Maintenance position ensures an exceptional customer experience for all Royal Farms customers.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Ensure every customer receives outstanding service by providing a friendly environment (greeting and acknowledging customers, maintaining outstanding standards, product knowledge, and all other components of customer service)
  • Support and follow all safety and security initiatives
  • Handles all grocery products in a safe and sanitary manner
  • Coordinate with supervisor and report all damages in products
  • Design and set up advertising signs and displays of merchandise on shelves, counters, or tables to attract customers and promote sales
  • Replenish products and supplies to ensure the store is stocked at all times and maintain track of all shelf life for various goods
  • Answer customers' questions about merchandise and advise customers on merchandise selection
  • Clean display cases, shelves, and aisles
  • Adhere to the execution of established Royal Farms rules, policies, procedures, and systems
  • Complete all side work as required (cleaning, dusting, sweeping, mopping, emptying trash, etc.)
  • Replenish products and supplies to ensure the store is stocked at all times
  • Communicate with the leadership team regarding customer requests and vendor-related concerns
  • Ensuring the compliance of Royal Farms' policies, procedures, and systems (people, safety, assets, etc.)
  • Complete other tasks as assigned

The ideal candidate for the Facilities/Maintenance position must be at least 17 years old and will:
  • Understand that their team's success depends on their accomplishments Possess strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Possess organizational skills and decision-making skills
  • Have earned a high school diploma or GED (preferred)
  • Utilize basic math skills and basic computer skills
  • Exhibit acceptance of authority
  • Be able to lift and carry 50 lbs
  • Be able to lift, bend, and stand as many as eight hours per day
  • No experience required
  • Have thorough knowledge of and be committed to Royal Farms culture and values
