This role is will have responsibility is to drive business analysis activities and deliverables through strong process discipline. This Principal IT Business Systems Analyst will lead and participate in activities and deliverables associated with the Analysis, Design and Testing phases of Quality projects across Medtronic RTG businesses. In this role you analyze Quality systems' business requirements and operational processes to sustain operations, align processes across business units/geographies, and develop solutions to complex problems. This position requires a strong coordination of efforts across our internal business units and geographies through working closely with business partners and Global IT leadership personnel.

Work independently with end-users and business partners to lead small - medium sized projects, assess the business requirements, match these requirements to objectives and guide them to the applicable processes and products including developing specifications and enhancements that will achieve the business goals.

Partner with Quality stakeholders to understand their business process models and help define their business solution requirements. Connecting the dots across Quality processes for data flow and information needs.

Build relationships with internal business process owners and Global IT peers.

Manage the expectations of the customer (i.e. balance their needs with wants and educate as appropriate).

Develop solutions to problems of unusual complexity, which require a high degree of ingenuity, creatively, and innovativeness. Challenges are frequently unique and solutions may serve as precedent for future decisions.

Motivate others in a team-oriented collaborative environment.

Partner with Business Units & Geographies to ensure solutions meet global standards & yet are flexible enough to meet local business requirements.

Ensure proper validation documentation is created for projects (i.e. SDLC or Medtronic Systems Compliance Methodology).

Deliver on commitments (high quality documentation, on time) while working on multiple assignments concurrently.

Effective skills to communicate issues, strategies and requirements to business & IT partners and customers.

Strong Analytical skills, reliable & timely decision maker with attention to detail is critical (decisions based on relevant information, alternatives and risk; with documentation of these details to support decisions)

Influence management skills; ability to work constructively across all functions of the organization.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

EDUCATION REQUIRED

GED/High School Graduate

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE

15+ years of IT experience with GED/High School Graduate

11+ years of IT experience with Associate Degree

7+ years of IT experience with a Bachelor's Degree

5+ years of IT experience with a Master's Degree

Nice to Have:

Bachelor's Degree

PMP certification or equivalent

Experience and/or certificate in Lean Six Sigma or equivalent

Experience in a business analyst role and translating user needs into functional design.

Experience in business process definition, requirements definition and technology solution research

Detail oriented with good documentation skills.

Solid understanding of both the business and the technical aspects of Information Management.

Strong planning, project management and problem solving skills

Knowledge of 21 CFR Part 11, systems validation methodologies and FDA regulatory requirements.

Experience in the development and support of integrated business applications and systems architecture.

Business Analyst certification

Proficient in making presentations and facilitating groups through challenging decisions.

Process development/process improvement knowledge

Knowledge and experience in medical device industry

Strong MS tool experience (Access, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)

Ability to interact within different levels of business and IT management; good organizational skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities

RTG BU system implementation experience

Experience in facilitating small to medium groups through challenging discussions

Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills

Innovative problem solving skills with the ability to identify problems, drive to root cause, develop, and implement solutions independently or as part of a team

Knowledge and experience in the medical device industry or in a similar regulated business environment.

Must be able to travel independently to various Medtronic buildings/sites

Ability to travel nationally/internationally and has the ability to obtain a passport.
