Hood, Copperas Cove, to Belton and Lampasas with plenty of restaurants, shopping and other family fun events.* Miles of scenic trails and parks available for recreational activityWork Hours/Shift:PRN, as neededYou Will Be Responsible For:Pharmacy OperationsActively performs all pharmacy technician functions and maintains active proficiency in:* Standard work parameters* Operational programs* Delivery and compounding systems* Hospital computer systems* Medication ordering systemsMaintains operational expertise in and actively provides coverage of the technician services provided by* Central PharmacyOversees appropriate utilization of medication automation, technology, and computer systems* Accurately interprets electronic records* Maintains expertise in Cerner processesAccurately oversees the management of medication inventories and the preparation and delivery of patient‐specific medication doses* Manages medication delivering activities* Prepares accurate medication products for delivery* Prevents improper drug, dose, dosage form selection, expiration dating, and barcode scanning issues when checking productsPharmacy PracticeFacilitates medication safety practices* Identifies, mitigates, and reports potential medication errors such as look‐alike sound-alike medicationsMaintains continuous learning and pharmacy practice development* Maintains personal continuing education plan including documentation of an annual self‐evaluation and plan for self-development* Completes CE modules as part of Pharmacy Technician licensure renewalProvides patient‐centered care services* Provides accurate, safe and timely medication therapyClinical Pharmacy ServicesSupports practice in decentralized areas* Collaborates with other pharmacy staffTeamwork and Inter-Professional CollaborationPresents to assigned areas on time, ready to work and does not exhibit unscheduled absenteeism* Adheres to lunch and break scheduleAssures continuity of care between shifts, among pharmacy staff assignments, and across pharmacy practice areas* Assures appropriate handoff between shifts and participates in Energizers/Meetings* Accepts any necessary work from preceding and does not leave excessive work for following shiftWorks effectively with all members of the healthcare team to ensure the best outcome for the patient* Demonstrates sensitivity to the perspective of the patient, caregiver, or health care colleague in all communications* Actively supports teammates (pharmacists, technicians, managers)* Uses effective negotiation skills to resolve conflictsTeaching, Training, Precepting, and MentorshipMentors new staff and assists with trainingSupports experiential training of pharmacy trainees in areas of expertise* Actively engages in pharmacy technician student learning experiencesQuality Improvement, Regulatory Compliance, and AccreditationSupports and participates in medication‐use process improvements led by colleagues and peersSupports regulatory compliance initiatives and supports institutional accreditation processesProfessional Activities and Practice AdvancementsMaintains a commitment to pharmacy practice via participation in pharmacy technician professional activities and practice advancement accomplishments.
