Web AnnouncementSenior Learning Management System AdministratorGeorge Mason University, Information Technology Services (ITS) - located on the Fairfax, Va., campus-invites applications for a Senior Learning Management System (LMS) Administrator position within the Learning Support Services, Online Learning Resources team. George Mason University has a strong institutional commitment to the achievement of excellence and diversity among its faculty and staff, and strongly encourages candidates to apply who will enrich Mason's academic and culturally inclusive environment.Learning Support Services (LSS) of Information Technology Services fosters and supports the George Mason community in the use of technology for teaching and learning.Responsibilities include:* Providing support to faculty, students and staff using the campus LMS (Blackboard) and its integrated tools (Kaltura, Collaborate, WordPress, etc.);* Developing and delivering training workshops and support documentation;* Managing the team's use of the ITSM ticketing system;* Reporting usage statistics and analytics reports;* Testing upgrades and new integrations;* Advising supervisor on recommended system enhancements.Required Qualifications:* Bachelor's degree in education, technology, or related field-or an equivalent combination of education and work experience-in the area of education, faculty support and/or instructional technologies;* Professional work experience providing end user support and administration for learning management systems (highest priority given to those with experience in Blackboard) in an academic setting;* Experience supporting synchronous web conferencing (highest priority given to those with experience in Blackboard Collaborate);* Demonstrated ability working with end users, creating training materials, and facilitating workshops;* Demonstrated ability working in a fast-paced, customer service-oriented environment;* Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills.Preferred Qualifications:* Master's degree;* Blackboard Collaborate experience supporting synchronous web conferencing;* Working knowledge of multiple Learning Management Systems and a wide range of instructional technologies;* Experience working with a help desk ticketing system and/or ITSM tool;* Ability to communicate and collaborate well with technical staff, software support staff, and vendors;* Demonstrated problem solving skills and attention to detail.Salary is commensurate with education and experience.George Mason University is a great place to work where employees are given an opportunity to develop skills and expand horizons.
