Please visit or follow @generationbio.SUMMARY:Generation Bio is seeking a highly motivated, energetic and creative scientist to join our rapidly growing team to help build internal bioanalytical/DMPK capabilities to support preclinical and early clinical development phases of non-viral vector based gene therapies. We are looking for an individual who is a self-starter and not afraid to push the boundaries of science, possesses excellent knowledge and skills in supporting novel modalities, especially in bioanalytical assay development and implementation using a variety of biological matrices to support gene therapies. The successful candidate is expected to perform method development, effectively trouble-shoot, and actively identify/adopt/develop new technologies to meet the demands of this rapidly evolving field. Hands on experience in applying various instrumental tools for bioanalysis, including but not limited to qPCR/ddPCR is preferred. The individual hired will also work closely with CRO's to transfer the assays and provide scientific oversight for externally sourced studies, as needed. Significant cross functional interactions are expected with key partnership between Pharmacology, Toxicology, and other departments.RESPONSIBILITIES:* Design, optimize, and execute assays to assess drug concentration in the in vitro and in vivo samples, in various biological matrices via qPCR or similar techniques* Help to build the bioanalytical function* Employ cutting edge technologies to understand pharmacokinetics and tissue distribution* Scientific oversight of CRO activities for outsourced studies including method transfer, data quality and analysis* Design experiments, analyze data & interpret results* Summarize studies in written reports and oral presentationsREQUIREMENTS:* PhD with 1+ year experience, Masters with 2 -7 years experience, bachelor's degree with 7+ years of experience in Bioanalytics or Molecular and/or Cell Biology, or related discipline* Biotech and/or pharmaceutical industry experience is preferred* Experience in developing bioanalytical assays to support gene therapies preferred; Proficient in developing qPCR assays Excellent lab based skills and the ability to work independently to analyze, interpret, and present data* Ability to multi-task to support multiple projects across platform* Ability to work in matrixed environment* Experience with cell lines, primary hepatocytes is a plus* Organized, excellent communication skills, collaborative, team player mindsetPOSITION: Full-Time, ExemptEEOC Statement: Generation Bio believes in a diverse environment and is committed to equal employment opportunity for all its employees and qualified applicants.
