Newmont's industry leading performance is reflected through high standards in environmental management, health and safety for its employees and creating value and opportunity for host communities and shareholders.About this roleWithin Technical Services, the Operational Technology and Business Improvement (OT&BI) team is responsible for establishing the vision and leading the evolution, alignment and integration of Strategic Business Improvement programs. These programs include Full Potential, Replication of Basics, Operational Technology and Innovation.OT&BI develops, maintains and delivers 2 to 5 year strategic program portfolio and overall enterprise innovation roadmap that maximizes sustainable value across the mining lifecycle.The OT&BI Delivery Partners support strategic program leadership with global deployment and value delivery. This requires pro-active, close coordination with VPs of productivity, multi-functional leadership, SMEs and IT to ensure an optimal deployment strategy, structure and supporting elements are in place (governance, portfolio prioritization, project management, finance management, and change enablement).The Program Manager, Operational Technology and Business Improvement is part of the OT&BI Delivery Partners and responsible for supervising the identification, planning, development, implementation, and closing of project efforts under the Senior Director, Innovation and Strategic Programs to ensure such efforts are appropriately run and follow Delivery Partner's PMO methodologies and governance. Such governance includes, but is not limited to, scope, schedule, budget, quality, risks, resources, procurement, communications, change enablement, and partner engagement. The program manager is responsible for engaging partners to make sure that program support meet customer expectations. Such engagement includes ensuring the appropriate and accurate flow of project information to the appropriate partners. Finally, the program manager is responsible for handling project managers, vendors, and other resources to ensure that the planed business benefits (documented in business cases and/or benefits management plans) are realized. This role is the key interface between Delivery Partners, OT&BI Program Leadership, business partners, and the value assurance investment review process.In this role you willPortfolio Management* Oversees Strategic program work in accordance with Delivery Partner's guidelines; ensuring that projects follow established methodologies and are auditable.* Develops core program practices and strategies, with a main focus on driving business results.* Matures and implements project management standard methodologies, theories and concepts.* Support project reporting with a focus on beneficial advice and early identification and resolution of issues and risk.* Develops executive management level reporting and coordinates delivery of monthly, and quarterly Reports* Maintains transparency into project status, schedule, cost and risks and to ensure project health.* Act as a reference point for Program queries, updates, and information.Business Development* Establishes good working relationships with OT&BI Program Leads, global and multi-functional program partners to ensure proactive engagement* Sets and attends appropriate meetings, collaborations and communications with business to lead change and ensure portfolio success.* Oversees and manages key cross-enterprise relationships.* Ensures project wide results by creating, leading and motivating teams to achieve common goals and organization wide benefits.* Continuous Improvement* Drives innovation and creative solutions that deliver business results* Improve and update program management practices to limit risk to project delivery (Project Controls, change control, Risk Management)* Maintaining processes to ensure that project management documentation, reports and plans are relevant, accurate and complete* Share lessons learned and standard methodologies across programsLead PM Team* Proper resourcing of projects with Project Management and Change Enablement resources (Includes onboarding, contract management, invoice approvals, etc.)* Finding the best resources to support specific projects, onboard them, and ensure they have the right resources, tools and procedures* Managing of Project Management contract resources team* Accountable for developing clear and concise achievement requirements for the team.The above duties and responsibilities are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all-inclusive.Your training, skills, and experience checklistKnowledge:* Bachelor's degree in Management/Leadership, MIS, Business Administration or related field/equivalent experience.* Master's degree in related field preferred.* Project Management certification;
