Project Analyst - 3 Positions

The Cash Product Office (CPO) has 3 Project Analyst positions with varying responsibilities to support the CPO's portfolio of projects on an on-going basis. This is an opportunity to be a part of a new concept team who is innovative in their approach to be cross trained in all 3 areas of responsibility. In each of these roles you would work and communicate with stakeholders on projects, gain a strategic lens of what management and senior leadership looks for in a project setting while learning project management methodologies.

Level/Title: Your title will be commensurate with your level of expertise in one or more of the associated areas of responsibility, prior working experience, and job responsibilities/expectations.

Location: Positions are located at either our San Francisco, CA or Cleveland, OH locations.

Project Analyst Responsibilities for All Positions:
  • Facilitate process improvement and change management initiatives.
  • May provide periodic briefings or updates on project status to Senior Leadership.
  • Lead and/or participate in cross-department, cross-functional workgroups as needed.
  • Responsible for the creation, maintenance, and distribution of key project materials, metrics, and/or documentation at the direction of the Portfolio Support manager.
  • Become cross-trained on the majority of the Project Analyst duties and responsibilities across the team.
  • Performs their job while demonstrating proficiency in each of the Bank values/behaviors established.
  • May be requested to provide project management support to application project teams.
  • Applies strong project management skills and adheres to Bank standards associated with project management methodology
  • Employs teamwork/consensus building skills

Position #1 - Methodology and Compliance Highlights
  • Reviews existing active projects on a prescribed basis to ensure that the projects are being managed according to National Cash Automation's established System-wide methodologies.
  • Provides regular, on-going communication on project status to the NCA staff and management as needed.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the steps and processes outlined in the COSO guidelines are being applied appropriately across all projects.
  • Serves as the central point of contact for NCA records retention, ensuring that records are maintained appropriately in accordance with Federal Reserve Bank guidelines and recommends corrective actions as necessary.

Position #2 - Risk and Communications Highlights
  • Serves as the owner of the Risk Management process, and ensures that National Cash Automation's Risk Management processes and procedures are effective and kept up to date with industry best standards and practices.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the steps and processes outlined in the Security Assurance for the Federal Reserve (SAFR) guidelines are being applied appropriately across all projects.
  • Responsible for collecting, consolidating and summarizing Program and Project status updates on an on-going basis; communicating these statuses to stakeholder groups as needed

Position #3 - Knowledge Management Highlights
  • Responsible for ensuring that the steps and processes outlined in the Security Assurance for the Federal Reserve (SAFR) guidelines are being applied appropriately across all projects.
  • Serve as the central point of contact for CPO face to face meeting/event design, coordination and planning.
  • Responsible for the design, drafting and execution of Project artifacts to support the facilitation of knowledge transfer between various areas of the organization.

  • Bachelors' degree or equivalent work experience:
    • Project Analyst I: Bachelor's degree or 3+ years of equivalent work experience
    • Project Analyst II or Senior Project Analyst: Bachelor's degree or 5+ years of equivalent work experience
    • Project Consultant: Bachelor's degree or 7+ years of equivalent work experience
  • Demonstrated strong problem solving, innovation and critical thinking skills
  • Experience with participating in and/or leading highly functional teams with a focus on personal and/or team development
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to include: interpersonal, emotional intelligence, collaboration and consensus building skills both within the team and across the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to develop informal and formal business relationships across all levels of the organization and within the team
  • Strong analytical, multitasking, and time management skills
  • Ability to lead and influence successfully in a highly matrix or virtual organization
  • Demonstrated in depth understanding of organizational complexities and ability to navigate them to achieve desired results

Preferred Skills:

  • A certification in Project Management methodologies, such as the PMP certification
  • Full understanding of industry practices, and Bank policies and procedures

Who is National Cash Automation (NCA)?

We are the Federal Reserve Cash Product Office's software development and support team, who are responsible for maintaining and enhancing the Federal Reserve System's cash operations suite of automation solutions. The Portfolio Support group is designed to support the needs of individual project teams, and to ensure compliance with internal project management standards and practices.
