Provides expertise to account teams, assisting in building solutions to address specific customer needs. In this position, the individual works to position NEC Biometrics products, and other NEC services and solutions effectively against competing offerings. Sales skills and experience are also important. During implementation, leads the creation of requirements and design documents.
Effectively communicates at multiple levels across functions within Customers (may include State, Local, and Federal Government agencies), and internal business units. Provides mentoring and coaching to new Solution Engineers (SE) and as time permits create whitepapers/training materials/tech notes for the SE sales force.
This role will be "NEC's face to the customer," working in a fast-paced, high-impact environment as a visible contributor delivering on our commitments. Solves complex problems; takes a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions. Challenges the status quo and rapidly responds to escalated issues. With a seasoned mix of fingerprint, facial recognition, and IT application knowledge coupled with specific area expertise, as well as excellent Customer Relationship Management skills, is well positioned to become a trusted advisor capable of building solid, long-term relationships with customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities -
25% Provide specific solution/technology/product consulting, technical and expert sales support for major account opportunities. (I.e. technical consulting, upper level management presentations, and NEC/IT solutions) while allowing local account team to maintain long-term ownership.
25% Use expert knowledge to understand customer business requirements, translate them into technical requirements and map these to NEC’s differentiated value proposition.
20% Architecture and design of solutions, applications, etc
5% Understand various NECAM and NEC global products as well as Enterprise Technology, Architectures and Services. Create, articulate, document and present technical solutions.
5% Perform in-depth and high-level technical presentations for customers, influencers up to, and including hands-on demo and proof of concept work plus in-depth competitive positioning.
5% Facilitate communications and understanding of priority requirements between customers, corporate business units, field sales teams, and key influencers
5% Creation of Leading Practices, Current and Future State Assessments, Architecture Vision, Migration approaches and Knowledge Transfer
2% Lead Design workshops and consultancy services to Enterprise and Government customers
2% Nurture an extended virtual team of specialists, providing consultative support and mentoring for less experienced Solution Engineers in assigned major account opportunities and territories.
4% Set and manage appropriate customer expectations throughout the Opportunity Lifecycle.
2% Mastery of processes and tools for:
* Proposal development
* Solution Architecture Overview
* Statement of Work development.
* NEC's need-based Sales Methodology
