Works under the direction of the Manager-Credentialing Process, providing credentialing and privileging process services to the assigned region’s hospitals and clinics. Responsibilities for this centralized function for hospitals and clinics include: credentialing, privileging, development and measurement of privilege criteria, development of and monitoring of the physician/AHP focused professional practice evaluation (FPPE) and ongoing professional practice evaluation (OPPE) programs, bylaw compliance, accreditation compliance, regulatory compliance, supports medical staff policies and procedures, and provides support for medical staff leadership in the assigned region. The Specialist maintains up-to-date knowledge of all applicable regulatory and accreditation standards, licensing and certification requirements. Provides support to the medical staff leadership to facilitate their responsibilities as described in the Medical Staff Bylaws. The credentialing process specialist will act as a liaison between the medical staff, hospital personnel, clinic personnel and administration and will inform the manager of concerns and issues that require resolution. Position requires high level of customer services skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with co-workers and others.
