Koch Heat Transfer is seeking a Driver-Material Handler at our manufacturing shop in Houston.

The ideal candidate is an experienced driver with experience with warehouse activities, can work well independently, is able to transition from task-to-task as needed and have the ability to embrace change.
The person in this role will report to the Main Shop Production Supervisor.
A Day In The Life Typically Includes:The driver-material handler will be responsible for daily delivery and pick-up of production parts to local suppliers within an approximate ten-mile radius. The parts can be large enough to require the use of a goose-neck trailer and forklift. The driver-material handler will be responsible for proper loading and securing of the items on the trailer, safe delivery, and adherence to specified time schedules. The driver-material handler supports and assistance to the warehouse and shipping coordinators including the building of skids (basic carpentry), preparing parts for shipping, pulling parts from stock, basic inventory tasks, receiving of deliveries, and basic part inspection (count and dimensions). The driver-material handler must maintain strict adherence to public transportation safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment, i.e.: safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toed boots and other PPE as required by specific jobs.
What You Will Need:
- At least two years of experience as a delivery driver.
- At least two years of experience working for a manufacturing/fabrication environment.
- At least two years of experience in warehouse operations.
- At least two years of experience in safely operating forklifts and tractors in a variety of weather and traffic conditions
- At least two years of experience in the operation of a truck / trailer as a minimum job requirement.
- The applicant must possess and retain a current (Class C ) Drivers License
- This position is subject to pre-employment background check, including a driving records check.
- High School diploma or equivalent certification required (GED).
- Have a current forklift license or the ability to attain one within one month.
- Meet the physical requirements of the job

What Will Put You Ahead?
- At least four year of experience as a delivery driver
- At least four years of experience in warehouse operations.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to have full range of mobility in upper and lower body, able to reach overhead, able to work in various positions, including, but not limited to stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, squatting; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance for extended periods of time. Be able to lift, pull and push material and equipment to complete assigned job tasks. Be able to lift 50 pounds of weight throughout assigned workday if required. Exposure to shop elements such as, noise, dust, fumes and odors. Moderate to heavy physical activity performing somewhat strenuous daily activities of a primarily production environment.
