Lead IT Engineer - Citrix

Job Summary: The Lead IT Engineer is responsible for the installation, validation, maintenance and oversight of technical applications or systems. This position serves as a liaison between ministries, clients and/or other technical groups and works to create a data driven organization through creation of dashboards, reports and other outputs. The Lead IT Engineer provides guidance and mentoring to others in completion of assigned deliverables and reports to a Senior Manager or Director, IT.

Essential Functions:


1.  Provides answers to technical and non-technical customer questions and suggests process improvements
2.  Conducts quality assurance activities such as peer reviews
3.  Provides technical guidance to junior team members
4.  Analyzes, diagnoses and determines the root cause of a technical problem and either solves it or pass it to the responsible resources for remediation
5.  Maintains knowledge base of known issues, steps required to address particular issues\tasks, documentation of new processes and general updates to keep content current
6.  Encourages, maintains and develops a professional business relationship with internal and external customers by providing prompt, efficient and professional service at all times
 
7.  Creates appropriate documentation in work assignments such as technical documentation and program code
8.  Develops clear and concise ad-hoc reports as requested
9.  Remains abreast of industry technical trends and new development to maintain current skills and remain current with industry standards
10. Understands and adheres to current SJH policies including, but not limited to, change management policies, access provisioning policies and audit requirements as required


Additional Responsibilities:


1.  Provides project assistance and serves as lead on many tasks
2.  Coordinates communication with vendor
3.  Reviews and validates resource quotes for management approval
4.  May support other ministries and opportunities and needs arise in support of the global SJH IT
organization
5.  May be required to attend regularly scheduled departmental and/or key ministry meetings and planning sessions to represent IT
6.  Monitors and identify opportunities for improving business processes by leveraging new or existing technologies
7.  Assists with contract review


May perform technology design activities in collaboration with and under the direction of the Enterprise engineering team.


Ensures cost effective upgrades are budgeted, planned and implemented before service targets are breached or performance issues occur.


Ensures the stability, integrity and performance of Citrix based services.


May participate in assuring operational readiness of new technology releases into production.


Strong working knowledge of Citrix Provisioning Server for both server and workstation provisioning.


Maintains efficient deployment processes & techniques for continued roll outs of standardized Citrix hardware & configuration deployments which assure compliance with approved configuration standards.


Solid experience with scripting or automating execution of configuration or data collection tasks utilizing tools and languages such as VB-script, WMI, ADSI, Power Shell or similar.


Exposure to a broad cross section of IT technologies and disciplines including networking, Wintel architectures, *NIX, SAN enterprise healthcare class applications and their interactions.


Application and Server Virtualization. Solid theoretical knowledge and
hands on experience configuring,
troubleshooting, optimizing and managing most of the following hardware/software technologies & protocols:

Server
?  Password Manager
Provisioning Server
?  EdgeSight
?  Dell & HP ha




Required:
Minimum of 7 years in a Citrix support role


Preferred:
VMware certification
Previous experience in enterprise class healthcare organizations
