The Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond Information Technology department has an immediate opening for a Senior Manager reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Information Management Services. The successful candidate will have strong EQ characteristics, proven successes managing and developing people, a passion for public service and substantial experience developing and delivering data management, integration, quality, warehousing, and governance programs.

In this highly visible role you will be responsible for defining long-term vision; developing practice capabilities; collaborating with peers to set Federal Reserve System information management direction, practices and standards; leadership, prioritization and execution of Cash processing in support of our monetary policy and project portfolio; and management and professional development of Project Managers delivering Data Management services and projects. The Senior Manager will be accountable to the Assistant Vice President of Cash Applications Development for budget management, project assignments, ensuring commitments are effectively managed, and partnering with San Francisco ITS, Cash Product Office and Currency Technology Office customers to ensure that stakeholder needs are met or exceeded.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Personnel Leadership - Manage a team of up to 5 Project Managers, distributed across FRB SF and FRB Richmond which includes, but is not limited to: Staff motivation; Career development; Assessing training needs; Building and maintaining trust and respect; Coaching, professional development and mentoring; Succession planning.

  • Change Management - Focus on the people side of change, including changes to business processes, systems, and technology, job roles and organizational structures. Creating and implementing change management plans that minimize employee resistance and maximize employee engagement. Drive faster adoption, greater ultimate utilization and higher proficiency of the changes impacting employees in the organization such that business results are achieved. Work very closely with the program staff, multiple development project teams, the hosting agency, and the Cash

  • Portfolio Management - Monitor projects to ensure adherence to defined standards; Drive the delivery of high quality, high value products to meet customer expectations; Build and maintain relationships with customer management peers; Compile and manage demand for services; Create and manage team budgets; Act as primary point of escalation for Project Managers and resolve issues; Analyze operational metrics to maximize team efficiency and balance workloads; Set project priorities to meet strategic objectives set by department Senior Management.

  • Group and System Initiatives - Act as a change agent and champion; Encourage innovation and process improvement; Collaborate with IT peers and superiors to define process improvement initiatives; Participate in System initiatives as available.
