If you have a passion for plastics, specifically extrusion, this job could be for you.

In this role, you would be conducting process design, development and materials selection to support extruded sub-assemblies. In addition, you'd coach the extrusion work cell and implement innovative continuous improvement initiatives.

A Day in the Life
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Managing specific individual project schedules and capital acquisition budgets.

  • Ordering, implementing, and qualifing process equipment and tooling.
  • Defining resources and requirements to refine process capabilities to achieve improvements in extrusion process control. Execute process improvement proposals.
  • Investigating new applications to leverage existing technologies. Collaborate with Team Engineers to develop product line extrusions and new product concepts to release to production.

  • Providing Process Engineering support and direction for production problems and development runs.

  • Devise and implement cost savings proposals related to extrusion process and work flow improvements.

  • Deploy Lean 6 Sigma methodology to solve and implement production improvement projects.

  • Direct supervision and line responsibilities for 4-6 techs and/or operators over a multi-shift operations.

    Must Haves - Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Plastics Engineering
  • Technical background in plastics machinery and/or processing
  • 5+ years of extrusion process/project engineering experience
  • Documented success rate of new product launch contributions and/or completed capital projects managed on time and on budget

    Nice to Have
  • MS Plastics Engineering
  • 5+ years of medical device extrusion process/project engineering experience in an ISO13485 environment
  • Supervisory experience
  • Six Sigma, Constraint Management and Lean Manufacturing experience preferred
  • Inventory Systems Management
  • Proven success in Project Management
  • Capacity modelling
  • Team dymanic skills (communication, accountability, decision-making, feedback, meeting managemenet, managing conflict)
  • Cognition of reel-to-reel operations
