SUMMARY: LTI, Inc. is expanding our Central Dispatch team to include route planning, direct driver dispatch communication, and incident response coordination for daily operations to provide increased support to local supervisory and management teams. Applicants selected will be heavily involved in the design and deployment of new systems and processes to enable enhanced centralized dispatch capabilities.

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Accountable for the efficient coordination of managed loads from inception to completion.

Responsible for the accurate and complete collection of billing supprot and operational performance data.

Provide leadership and direction for improvement focused data driven dispatch planning.


Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following; other duties may be assigned: 

 

  • Responsible for Route & Resource Planning, Driver Communication, Execution Management, and Exception Tracking/Reporting.

  • Utilizes new Central Dispatch Planning Tools to prepare route boards for communication with Drivers, Driver Supervisors, and Operations Managers.

  • Monitors route efficiency, comparing execution data with planned route standards.

  • Validates demurrage reporting and tracks/reports the accuracy of all driver initiated Operations Data Collection (ODC) processes to identify training opportunities for operations managers.

  • 1st and single Point of Contact for Customers and Drivers coordinating LTII’s response to Order Changes, Product Spills, Transit Delays and Chain of Custody issues while on shift.
  •  Keeps a positive attitude while dealing with constant change and balancing responses to multiple simultaneously occurring issues.

  • Participates in weekly meetings and conference calls providing input and forecasting.

  • Other duties and tasks may be assigned.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Associate’s Degree (A.A) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, a minimum of two years related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Excellent Customer Service Skills as Primary point of contact for Customers.

Some dispatch experience is preferred, but not required.

 

LANGUAGE AND SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to read, write, and interpret routine reports and correspondence; ability to communicate effectively with customers, contractors, vendors, managers, and other employees of the organization.

 

MATHEMATICALSKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide two digit numbers.

 

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to understand detailed written and oral instructions; ability to prioritize and problem-solve in time/safety-sensitive situations.    

 

LEADERSHIP/DECISION-MAKING SKILLS:

Ability to organize, implement, and follow through to completion projects and tasks assigned or assumed; ability to provide direction to others; ability to provide objective and decisive action(s) necessary to resolve issues with minimal disruption to operational performance; ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely and efficient manner.

 

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Must have a working knowledge of Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PeopleNet programs; must have proven supervisory skills; must have the ability to work well under pressure and handle demanding customer needs.  Able to balance team and individual responsibilities, give and welcome feedback, contribute to building a positive team spirit, and is able to build morale and group commitments to goals and objectives. 

 Class A CDL preferred, with hazardous materials endorsement recommended, but not required. Forklift certification desired, but not required.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and sit during the normal course of daily activities.  The employee is frequently required to use hands and fingers to keyboard and operate a variety of machinery from office equipment to large forklifts.  The employee is regularly required to talk and hear while communicating with employees, customers, and vendors either in person, by radio, or by using the telephone; the employee is regularly required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
