Job Description:

  • The Principal Network Architect is a trusted advisor and is responsible for positive business outcomes by ensuring the effective operation of the network through development of architectural blueprint and implementation lifecycle.
  • The Principal Network Architect performs strategic planning and design, optimization, and steady state change management for Company’s global network environment. This will include working on a variety of network technologies that may include routed/switched networks, wireless, software and hardware based, security components and other network technologies for the enterprise.
  • An ideal candidate for this role is an individual that has a diverse and deep technical background in data and voice networks, extensive exposure to network utilities and internet/intranet-related tools, and practical experience in a wide range of technical and architectural disciplines. This person will be the subject matter expert in network technologies & architecture, provides technical leadership and strategic guidance across the organization for complex infrastructure and security projects, and help teams solve the most challenging technical problems with an infectious “can do” attitude.



Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and recommend network software & hardware technologies and products.
  • Must have a passion for documentation - Create and maintain network diagrams and supporting network documentation.
  • Assist in the design, development and implementation of disaster recovery procedures.
  • Stays current & relevant with new approaches, industry best practices, standards, relevant architectural principles and patterns, and synthesize those that apply to the company to provide business value and differentiation.
  • Ensures that technology planning and practices are aligned with strategic business goals and the company’s overall strategic roadmaps. Proactively research and recommend new IT solutions that help toward cost savings for the enterprise.
  • Review and evaluate current products and infrastructure to identify if they are cloud compliant and will be successful if migrated to a public/private cloud environment.
  • Establish governance processes for direction and control to ensure that objectives are achieved, risks are managed appropriately and the organization's resources are used responsibly, particularly in the areas of solution delivery.
  • Ensures compliance to technology strategy, architecture strategy, and adherence to architectural patterns and practices across development, delivery, and operational lifecycles.
  • Serves as a role model and mentor.
  • Performs hands-on technical work, as required.


Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering or 8+ years equivalent technical field experience.
  • 5+ years functioning as a Technical Architect, Solutions or Enterprise Architect with Network specialization and focus.
  • Has specified architectural designs developed solutions deployed on AWS, Azure or similar cloud technologies using both IaaS and PaaS models.
  • Excellent business and technical communication skills, both written and oral, and the ability to convey results in a persuasive manner and at the appropriate level of detail.
  • An enterprise-wide view of the business and an appreciation for strategy, processes and frameworks, enabling technology governance.
  • Must have thorough knowledge of operating systems capabilities, network protocols, firewalls and routers.
  • Knowledge of Cisco, Aruba and Riverbed products.
  • Experience deploying and maintaining CISCO, Aruba, Riverbed equipment.
  • CCIE, CCNA & CCNP certification highly preferred.
  • Experience deploying and maintaining VoIP Architectures desirable.
  • Ability to analyze and solve complex technical problems.  Must be able to complete multiple tasks and meet scheduled deadlines.
  • Work in a collaborative environment with other architects and SMEs. This position typically works under general supervision and direction of the Principle Enterprise Architect.
  • This job is at a cleared facility, we can only hire US persons at this site. A US person is ether a US Citizen or a Permanent resident. You must be able to obtain a Security Clearance if necessary.
