Part-time position 20/hr. per week.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist Lab Managers / site liaisons in addressing non conformance's derived from monthly safety walk-throughs.
  • Assist with quarterly collection of data and entry into SOFI system.
  • Perform weekly hazardous waste and other required compliance inspections at the El Segundo site.
  • Assist in preparing permits, registrations and scheduling inspections.
  • Support IMPRES program at IFAM – NM sites through maintaining file systems; collecting data and maintaining compliance calendars.
  • Maintains MSDSOnline database.
  • Maintains Chemical Hygiene program through verification of laboratory chemical inventory.
  • Assist emergency response activities.
  • Supports employee education and training, including the ESH onboarding program.
  • Assists with development of ESH awareness and communication materials.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Associates degree in occupational health and safety, environmental management or related technical or sciences field (such as chemistry, biology, physics, environmental sciences, etc.). Professional accreditation may be substituted for degree. i.e. CHMM, CSP, REA, CEA, OSHA 30.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an ESH role, preferably in a manufacturing and/or lab safety role.
  • Experience with CA environmental and safety laws
  • Experience with database management.
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong communication and multitasking skills
  • Microsoft Office experience (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) for analyzing, monitoring, reporting and presentations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of ISO 14000 and OHSAS 18000 systems.
  • Auditing experience.
  • Knowledge of multi-state, ESH regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
