CornerStone Medical is looking for an Employee Health and Education RN for a state of the art facility in Dallas, TX. The Employee Health and Education Nurse is responsible for the development, organization and implementation of the employee health and annual education programs for facility staff. This is a full time position.

Responsibilities of the Employee Health and Education Nurse (RN):
  • Collaborates with the Chief Nursing Officer to assure the development, implementation, and maintenance of a comprehensive employee health and employee education program for all entities of the hospital.
  • Develops, implements and evaluates goals, objectives, policies and procedures related to quality management; reviews and revises as needed.
  • Works within the budget for department and department initiatives.
  • Oversees the collection, analysis and reporting of employee health and employee education data related to annual immunization, TB testing and education requirements by regulatory standards.
  • Promotes interdisciplinary collaboration, fosters teamwork and champions service excellence.
  • Educates and trains the leadership, staff and Associates on annual education requirements by regulatory entities.
  • Develops and provides ongoing education to staff and team members.
  • Conducts new on-hire screenings and annual employee health screenings to include health history, immunizations update, and brief assessment.
  • Refers employees with identifiable limitations and/or health risks to appropriate resources.
  • Offers health promotion incentives and educational materials.
  • Collaborates with Human Resources to ensure completion of all health screenings.
  • Conducts surveillance and follow-up of employee exposures to communicable diseases.
  • Plans, implements and conducts annual Flu Vaccine Program.
  • Plans and implements other vaccine programs as directed by APIC, OSHA, CDC and other regulatory agencies, to include Tetanus and MMR.
  • Conducts TB screening for all new employees, all other employees, and volunteers according to the Hospital TB control plan and/or at least annually. Conducts follow-up skin testing for all employee TB exposures.
  • Trends employee illnesses/injuries to identify safety and health issues.
  • Plans, implements and conducts annual TB and blood borne pathogen training to employees in required departments.
  • Provides education on an as needed basis regarding hand washing and isolation practices.
  • Demonstrates awareness of an adherence to legal requirements pertinent to employee health and safety.
  • Participates as an active member of the Infection Control Committee and on hospital-wide committees at the request of executive level management.
Qualifications of the Employee Health and Education Nurse (RN):
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Bachelor's degree required. Master's Degree preferred.
  • ACLS Required
  • Current registered nursing license, in good standing with the State licensing board
  • Five years of clinical experience in an acute care health facility preferred.
  • Two years of employee health and education nursing preferred.
  • A minimum of three years? experience in Health Information, Quality Utilization or Risk Management helpful.
  • Experience and knowledge of statistics, data collection, analysis, and data presentation required.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills required.
  • Experience with, knowledge of, and ability to apply regulatory performance improvement standards and core measures required.
