Job Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic and talented Research Associate II to join our In Vitro Biology group. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, validating, and implementing biochemical and cell based assays to support characterization of novel small molecule and biologic therapeutics for projects in diverse therapeutic areas. Pharma/Biotech industry experience highly desirable.

Job Responsibilities

  • The responsibilities of this position include conducting assays appropriate for routine screening, performing investigative studies on the mechanism of action of novel compounds, and interpreting and communicating experimental findings to Research project teams.
  • The ideal candidate will have knowledge of relevant experimental biology techniques, including: biochemical and cell-based assays (e.g., ELISA, qPCR, cellular proliferation, flow cytometry, etc.), and mammalian cell culture.
  • Experience with in vitro immunology models is desirable.
  • Experience working with radioactively labeled molecules is a plus.
  • The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and independent, responsive and proactive to project team goals, embrace cooperation and collaboration, and thrive in a dynamic, collegial research laboratory environment.

Education & Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Bachelors degree in a scientific discipline is required. Equivalent experience may be accepted.
  • A minimum of 2 years work experience in a research and/or development environment is required.
  • Previous hands-on practical laboratory experience is required.
  • Must have a demonstrated working knowledge of scientific principles.
  • Must be able to demonstrate good decision-making skills.
  • Must possess good oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to demonstrate sound judgment.
  • Must have demonstrated problem solving abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills are required.
  • Good computer skills are required.
  • Working knowledge of MS word, Excel, Power point is a plus.
  • Experience working in an FDA regulated environment is highly desired.
  • Must be willing to work as part of a team and demonstrate good interpersonal skills.
