Quality Analyst I


Job Summary

Responsible for performing the day-to-day quality operations for QA Receiving & Inspection within the Quality organization. Perform the disposition of raw materials to support manufacturing demand. Complete nonconformance investigations to identify why deviations occur and to minimize/eliminate their reoccurrence. Revise documents to streamline the process and maintain compliance. Inspect material when necessary. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Disposition raw material lots by reviewing the documentation to determine if quality requirements have been met. 
  • Perform nonconformance investigations which include assigning root cause, ascertaining material/product impact, and determining appropriate corrective actions. 
  • Revise documents to support process improvements, corrective actions, division compliance, and audit commitments. 
  • Inspect materials during acute increases due to manufacturing demand. 
  • Administer and maintain relevant databases, preparing and issuing reports related to receiving/inspection metrics. 
  • Assist in external and internal audits by maintaining audit records, extracting data from databases and creating reports, collecting relevant data, and presenting the process during tours. 
  • May perform other duties as assigned. 

Education & Qualifications 

  • Associate degree in a scientific discipline and one to three years of relevant experience within most recent 5 years or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in the life sciences, business or other technical field preferred. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills and great attention to detail are necessary.
  • Must be a strong team player with good problem solving, and good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to handle multiple projects concurrently, have computer experience and have knowledge of FDA Regulations, Application of Good Laboratory Practices, and Application of Good Manufacturing Practices. 
  • Knowledge of basic chemical and biological safety procedures. 
  • Must be able to read and follow detailed written instructions and have good verbal/written communication skills. 
  • Must be able to navigate, conduct searches, and fill on line forms on Personal Computer for the purposes of training and self service applications. 
  • Must have the ability to navigate electronic mail systems and intranet for communication purposes. 
  • General word processing and spreadsheet skills. 
  • Good interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively and efficiently in a team environment. 

Working Environment

  • Employee maybe required to manage hazardous wastes in compliance with company procedures & State/Federal/Local hazardous waste regulations. Duties may include: Identifying, handling, generating, accumulating, storing, labeling, and on-site transporting of hazardous wastes. 
  • Will need to enter the warehouse to disposition/inspect materials, perform investigations, and complete document requirement reviews. 
  • May need to wear personal protective equipment due to safety requirements. 
  • May be exposed to dust, gases, and fumes. 
  • Possible exposure to cold storage conditions. 
  • May be around moving equipment.
  • May be around chemicals such as alcohol, acids, buffers, etc. 
  • May be required to work or be assigned to a different shift as needed. 
  • Must be able to work more than 8 hours a day or 40 hours a workweek as required. 
  • Overtime may be required at times. 
  • Will have interaction with other people. 
  • Pace may be fast and job completion demands may be high.
