Work on a large scale home automation software platform and supporting projects. The main project is built around an embedded Linux platform. This platform has been built around a plug-in architecture to allow for modular expandability. Projects range from the control platform, to Cloud connected services, to end-user mobile apps.

Responsibilities:

  • Guide team development efforts and mentor other developers when needed.
  • Maintain and debug existing code base with a main focus on robustness and reliability.
  • Create new solutions to support upcoming features.
  • Evaluate existing architecture and identify methods to improve and streamline a constantly evolving code base.
  • Develop new features from end to end, sometimes spanning several hardware and software platforms.
  • Test and debug all aspects of the product.
  • Identify and employ new technologies, tools, and processes that help improve the product.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 10+ years in software development.
  • Experience with large-scale, on-going, projects.
  • Proficient in C/C++ and supporting IDEs / debuggers.
  • Code level experience with common networking protocols TCP/UDP/SSL.
  • Familiar with Open Source technologies.
  • Work in a team environment with many moving parts.
  • Comfortable on Windows and Linux platforms.
  • Cross platform compilation and debugging a plus.
  • Experience with iOS objective-C a plus.
  • Experience with Android (Java) and native development a plus.
  • Experience with IoT wireless protocols (Z-wave, ZigBee) a plus.
