Carolina Center for ABA and Autism Treatment is a leading provider of Applied Behavior Analysis services, dedicated to improving the lives of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, and their families. As a rapidly growing organization, we are looking for a full-time Controller and Manager of Strategic Finance to help us in overseeing our finance, accounting, reporting, and business intelligence functions within our organization. This individual will be an integral part of the operations team, reporting directly to the CFO/COO, and possessing a comprehensive, company-wide perspective on all financial planning and reporting, while further providing visibility and enabling data-based decision making at all levels of the organization. This individual’s contributions will be highly visible to, and valued by, senior management, the Board of Directors, and investors.


Role/Responsibilities:

  • Prepare timely, accurate, complete monthly/quarterly/annual financial reporting packages
  • Develop and own company-wide financial model, annual budget/forecast process, and variance reporting
  • Drive completion of month-end financial close process and ensure GL accounts are reconciled each month along with supporting schedules and all reported results are in accordance with US GAAP
  • Maintain the chart of accounts, all journal entries, an orderly filing system, and a system of controls and policies over all accounting transactions
  • Develop, refine and own all performance scorecards, key operational dashboards, and performance tracking
  • Work with third-party advisors to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax filing requirements
  • Manage cash including monitoring daily balances, receipts and disbursements, and rolling cash flow forecasts
  • Oversee payroll and A/P, including check runs to ensure timely and accurate payment of employees and vendors
  • Support any M&A or debt/equity financing activities, other capital structure needs, or shareholder distributions
  • Build and manage high-performance team by actively promoting a culture that is customer-focused, team-oriented, and focused on automation to increase scalability
  • Partner with senior management to build financial discipline throughout the organization and enable strong performance against strategic, financial, and operational goals

  • Fluency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook)

  • Clear written and verbal communication, strong interpersonal skills and a sense of humor


Required Skills and Experience:

  • Required Certified Public Accountant with Mastery of QuickBooks Desktop environment
  • Required Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field
  • Required highly proficient accounting skillset including accrual-based, GAAP accounting and financial statement preparation, consolidation and analysis
  • Required comfort in working with and analyzing financials statements and relevant financial/operating metrics, and ability to span from high-level strategic finance to daily operational accounting tasks
  • Required exceptional skills and mastery of data analysis in Excel, Tableau and/or other BI platforms as well as professional services formatting of PowerPoint presentations for internal and external stakeholders
  • Desired three or more years of experience with a “Big 4” or a large middle-market accounting firm, or as a Controller in a corporate setting
  • Desired experience in multi-facility healthcare services and familiar working with clients, providers and third-party payors
