Volt Workforce Solutions has partnered up with our client who is the leading provider of industrial gas turbine engines and compressors! We are in search of Overhaul Mechanics to work onsite at our client facility in Desoto, TX!

-Inspect and rework compressor disks- inspect disks for any imperfections, file blades and curvic to acceptable standards, reject disks that cannot be reworked to acceptable standards
-Gleason compressor disks- using gleason machine, check disc run out to ensure disc meets tolerance
-Balance compressor disks- using static balance machine, check balance of disk and drill as appropriate to ensure balance tolerance
-Assemble quality compressor rotors per standard work instructions
-Final compressor rotors once received from Commerce
-Assemble and Disassemble GP/PT rotors per standard work instructions
-Works in a teaming environment by attending and participating in team meetings, supporting established team business goals, adhering to team's ground rules and norms, etc.
-Works with team members, other technicians and engineering to solve complex technical problems
-Operates shop equipment, material handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.), bench and hand tools, test equipment and controls as well as machines and inspection equipment in an overhaul environment
Ability to operate shop equipment, bench tools, hand tools and inspection equipment (micrometers)
Minimum one (1) years hands-on mechanical/turbomachinery experience preferred
Minimum of 1 to 3 years of mechanic experience working on engines
Work independently and contribute to the lean work center's goals
Willing to work overtime and weekends as needed to meet production and team goals
Willing to take initiative to improve quality while reducing costs and turn times
Willing to change job assignments when production requirements change
Must be able to communicate effectively within a cross-functional environment
Must have high school diploma or Equivalent
