Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is the world's fifth busiest passenger airport and ranks sixth in air cargo tonnage handled.   Approximately 80 passenger carriers and 20 cargo carriers serve LAX, including all major airlines. There are nine terminals with more than 140 aircraft parking spots for commercial airlines.   DNC Travel Hospitality Services operates casual dining concepts in four terminals such as Wolfgang Pucks, Farmers Market, Skewers, Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf and more.

The Opportunity

Position Summary:

Assists management in carrying out daily operations of commissary department, in accordance with Company’s GuestPath Universal Service Standards and applicable Operational Standards.

Essential Functions:

*Supervises commissary personnel, including assigning duties, training, coaching and counseling; reports any associate problems to manager

*Ensures proper stock of beer, soda, food and other products are in their appropriate locations

*Maintains daily awareness of product needs; determines quantities required to adequately stock commissary.

*Oversees inventory control, including receiving shipments, disposing outdated material, cycle counting.

*Maintains safety, security and cleanliness of storage areas, passageways, elevators and work areas.

*Oversees and/or sets up machines and equipment for commissary

*Oversees the proper closing of assigned area.

*Schedule meetings with and follow-up with vendors

*Place product orders by deadline and efficiently communicate with correspondents 

*Oversees warehouse staff.

*Enforces company policies and safety regulations.

*Initiates and organizes procedures to set standards for the warehouse. Performs other duties as assigned

Non-essential Functions:

*Assists management in ordering supplies

*Assists management in interviewing and selection of candidates for commissary positions.

Education & Experience:

  • Minimum 6 months- 1 year prior warehouse, food and beverage commissary or related experience required.
  • Previous experience with Excel or similar database management computer system required High school education or GED required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

*Ability to work cooperatively with others, and adhere to Company’s GuestPath Universal Service Standards

*Knowledge of BirchStreet Systems a plus!

*Use of Microsoft Office 365, and excel required

*Professional phone & interpersonal skills

*Must be dependable and a self-starter; ability to work independently

*Strong leadership skills; ability to delegate and coach others

*Basic math skills

*Ability to communicate job procedures and give clear concise instructions

*Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

*Ability to read and interpret deliveries and purchases

Physical Requirements:

*Ability to lift/move/maneuver up to 165 lbs.

*Ability to pull heavy carts of stock throughout facility

*Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, lifting and reaching, during entire length of shift

Environmental Working Conditions:

*Warehouse environment, noise level may be moderate to high
