We are seeking a Behaviorist to provide behavioral services to adults with disabilities and challenging behaviors in the Salt Lake City area.
To provide behavioral support to customers including people receiving support from
management and direct care staff. Shall demonstrate knowledge of relevant
and UT funding agency policies and procedures, implement these policies as required, and do so in a manner that embraces the mission, vision and values.
? -Must have a Master’ s degree in Social Science field or related field.
?- Two years experience in the field of developmental disabilities, mental health, youth
corrections, foster care and/or other related fields.
?- Experience creating and implementing behavior plans.
?- Experience and education in working with individuals with developmental disabilities who have significant behavior issues.
? -Experience supervising and/or training and coaching staff.
? -Professional license as required.
? -Must have interest in working with individuals with intellectual and developmental
disabilities, as well as people with mental health problems who exhibit difficult behaviors.
?-Must have verbal and written communication skills adequate to the specific job tasks
?- Must be comfortable working with individuals with few verbal communication skills or may not be able to communicate wants and needs in traditional ways.
?- Must have good communication and collaboration skills.
? -Must be able to work effectively with a team of professional and paraprofessional staff in a manner that ensures that interventions and services are coordinated in an effective manner in supporting clients.
? -Must be comfortable with managing individual’ s behaviors.
? -Must have the ability to work independently and also as part of a team to accomplish goals.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
? Support people receiving support from RISE through developing written behavioral
interventions as identified on the person’ s plan. This may include, but is not limited to the following:
o Developing functional analyses
o Developing written formal interventions which address environmental,
curricular, reinforcement, and crisis interventions, and functional alternatives to
the behavior(s) being addressed.
