Electrical Designer  

We are seeking both experienced and entry level Electrical Designers in the Power Generation field.  Our client is a manufacturer of “specialized pre-fabricated buildings” for electrical sub-stations that combine the benefits of an on-site built structure (accuracy and permanency), with the advantages of a pre-assembled control room (customization and scheduled assembly).  These roles reside in Oregon, WI and come with a strong benefit package.  Experienced roles pay in the $70K-$90K range while entry level roles begin at $50K.  We also seek minimal experience – 1+ year or internship – which compensate at $55K-$65K.

The Electrical Designer will collaborate and coordinate with electrical design team members to produce electrical designs of assigned projects and ensure that goals or objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters by performing the following duties.

  • Produce electrical designs of buildings that have custom specifications for function, interior/exterior design, size, mobility, etc.
  • Responsible for the design and functional use, per customer specifications, of electrical wiring and equipment within Trachte steel commercial modular buildings.
  • Creates wiring diagrams, schematics, and equipment schedules using “AutoCAD Electrical” and “SolidWorks” design program software
  • Calculates conduit and wire fill parameters within National Electrical Code requirements.
  • Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and/or expertise in problem resolution.
  • Possess a firm understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC)

Requirements for the Experienced Electrical Designer:

  • 5+ years of field service experience as an industrial or commercial Electrical Installer
  • Achieved Journeyman’s license, formal union training, or public/private educational equivalent
  • 2+ years working with AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks 3D software
  • Preferred 2 or 4 year degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • Advanced math acumen to apply concepts such as fractions, ratios, and proportions, to practical situations
  • Familiarity operating under the National Electrical Code

Requirements for the Entry-Level to less experienced Electrical Designer:

  • 1+ years of electrical design experience – either on the job, classroom, or internship -  within a manufacturing setting
  • 1+ years of experience working with AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks 3D software
  • Possess a 2 or 4 year degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Advanced math acumen to apply concepts such as fractions, ratios, and proportions, to practical situations
  • Familiarity with the National Electrical Code
