A company that is looking to grow in the US is seeking a Business Development Manager to join their team.

Salary: $80,000 – $120,000

Location: Houston OR Dallas


  • The role of business development lead is to identify sales leads, pitch goods or services to new clients and maintain a good working relationship with new contacts.
  • Business development for the US region within the Hydrovac / Straight Vac market
  • Researching organisations to find new customers and identify who makes the decisions
  • ‘Cold calling’ to arrange meetings at customers’ premises
  • Negotiating with customers and building positive relationships
  • Attending events and conferences
  • Identifying new methods and opportunities for sales campaigns
  • Forecasting sales targets and making sure they’re met
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Ensures that company strategy is executed
  • Following up new business opportunities and setting up meetings
  • Planning and preparing presentations
  • Communicating new product developments to prospective clients
  • Development and subsequent implementation (after approval) of an operational and business plan for the region. This plan includes identification of key growth opportunities, important issues and action items
  • Purchase materials, plan inventory and ensure warehouse efficiency
  • Ensure the fleet management program is carried out in the region. Fleet costs are an important aspect of the business and they must be managed accordingly
  • Act as direct liaison between executive team and CEO


  • Proven work experience in a similar, 5-10 years of progressive responsibility in a management or senior role
  • Must have experience within the Hydrovac industry
  • A good entrepreneurial, common sense, simple business approach
  • Adequate knowledge of organizational effectiveness and operations management
  • Budget development and oversight experience
  • Familiarity with business and financial principles and practices
  • Working knowledge of budgets, forecasting and metrics
  • Basic IT skills (databases, MS Office etc.)
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
  • High level of integrity, confidentially, and accountability
  • Field experience in oil and gas or telecommunications
  • Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to travel up to 75%
