Position Title/Status: Information Technology Systems and Network Manager/Exempt                              
Department: IT Reports to: Director of IT   Location: Abingdon, Virginia office
Under the direction of Director of IT, provides technical end-user support and first level network and telecom support according to best practices and security policies. Manages backup/restore initiatives
Provides end-user support with hardware and software related issues on MS Windows, Mac OS and Linux computers, printers and mobile devicesTroubleshoots and resolves computer, laptop, printer, fax and cell phone hardware and software related issues; ensures that resolutions are consistent with standards and do not introduce additional conflictsSets-up and maintains personal computers, laptops, printers and cell phones according to company specificationsSets-up, maintains and disables network users; grants access permission according to defined rulesConducts backups and recoveryMonitors disaster recovery environment and testing disaster recovery processMonitors network traffic and analyzes log files for problem identification and resolutionMaintains network related documentationMonitors virus protection software and follows procedures in the event of a breachTests new hardware and software applicationsManages, distributes and monitors all company provided cell phonesParticipates in planning, architecting, and engineering company networks, databases, servers, and related infrastructure to ensure support of current and future expected business requirements and service levelsInstalls, configures and maintains network related infrastructure and serversEnsures a highly available, secure and redundant networking environment

Four year degree and/or one year or more related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience is a plus

Intermediate level knowledge of network and computer operations to include Microsoft operating systems, Linux and Mac OS, Office 365, industry standard backup, LAN, VLAN, WAN, network routing, active directory, industry standard backup and virus protection software, VMWare, Red Hat Linux, routing, switching, firewall best practices, SQL and Oracle databases. Certifications preferredEnthusiasm for networks and computer systems, and ability to learn related technologiesAbility to identify and monitor potential operational malfunctionsSelf-starter with strong initiative, flexibility, and integrityAbility to think clearly and methodically in a fast-paced environment with competing prioritiesStrong troubleshooting and research skills; ability to solve issues in a logical manner.Ability to continuously seek and undertake opportunities to improve infrastructure, processes, and work environmentJD Edwards Configurable Network Computing (CNC) preferred, but not requiredExcellent attention to detail and follow-through requiredExcellent analytical and communication skillsMaintains confidentialityBeing available, as needed, for occasional off-hours tasks relating to upgrades, installs unplanned outages, etc.Minimal travel
