Helloworld Travel Services USA – leader in designing customized vacations to Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific Islands – is searching for a Finance Manager who will be responsible for working with senior management to develop financial strategies for the organization. You are comfortable handling large amounts of data, acting as a business partner, decision maker, and providing regular financial reporting for the company’s core brands: Qantas Vacations, Islands In The Sun and Travel2.
RESPONSIBILITIES
ManagementMaintain a documented system of accounting policies and proceduresOversee the operations of the finance department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department’s goals and objectivesManage a team of staff including AP/AR Coordinator and Staff AccountManage local tax obligationsAssist Head Office (based in Australia) by providing timely and accurate financial information as required Assist in preparation of local statutory reporting requirements
Funds ManagementForecast cash flow positions and available funds for investmentEnsure that sufficient funds are available to meet ongoing operational and capital investment requirementsUse hedging to mitigate financial risks related to foreign currency liabilities Maintain banking relationships
Budgeting/ForecastingManage the preparation of the company’s budget + Forecasting Report to management on variances from established budget, and the reasons for those variancesAssist management in the formulation of its overall strategic direction
Financial AnalysisEngage in ongoing cost reduction analyses in all areas of the companyReview the performance of competitors and report on key issues to managementInterpret the company’s financial results to management and recommend improvement activitiesCompile key business metrics and report on them to managementManage the capital budgeting process, based on constraint analysis and discounted cash flow analysisCreate additional analyses and reports as requested by management
Month End CloseJournal EntriesPreview AP and AR PostingsPrep trial balance and reviewUpload trial balance to Great PlainsReconcile General Ledger AccountsPreview Bank/GL Reconciliations
QUALIFICATIONSAbility/willingness to work to firm deadlines Calypso knowledge desirable TM1 knowledge desirable Great Plains knowledge desirable Relevant experience in travel related industry desirable Proven team management experienceAbility to make independent decisions under pressureAbility to influence outcomes and deliver resultsAttention to detailAble to communicate clearly and effectivelyBachelor’s degree in Finance or related fields. Equivalent work experience acceptable.Familiarity with Sage 300Must have Excel Skills (Office 365)
