Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for hiring, training and managing the Architecture Department.
  • Monitors and tracks project progress, aged accounts, invoicing and budget, and is responsible for overall project performance and profitability.
  • Develops schedules, budgets and proposals (contracts).
  • Responsible for building, maintaining and managing client relationships.
  • Possess strong drive, motivation and self-initiative.
  • Adheres to company policies and can articulate company?s mission statement to team members and clients.
  • Reports to the Vice-President of Architecture or Associate Principal in Charge.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor?s degree in Architecture, Masters preferred.
  • 15 years experience with 8 years in the required project type ? retail.
  • Licensure in Architecture required, Plus to be CA but not a must!
  • Thorough understanding and knowledge of building codes, zoning regulations and approval process.
  • Requires strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Experienced managing projects and project teams.
  • Prior supervisory experience of medium size group (8-10+ staff).
  • Strong leadership skills - ability to manage teams effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Highly organized, detail-driven and conscientious.
  • Is attuned to areas of structural, mechanical, electrical and site requirements.
  • Proficient in MS Word and MS Excel, with a working knowledge of current version of AutoCAD.
  • Revit a plus but not a must.
  • Heavy client interaction.
