We are seeking a Semiconductor Device Engineer to join a client who has a high-performing team in our team in their Carlsbad, CA (North San Diego County) corporate headquarters and design center.  We are open to to a junior engineer or more senior. 

In this role you will focus on:

  • Semiconductor foundry (CMOS, SiGe BiCMOS, III-V FET/HBT) PDK development including test structure design, measurements, device characterization and modeling.
  • Electromagnetic & thermal analysis and model parameter extraction for active/passive devices and interconnects integrated on semiconductor substrate.
  • Technical interface to foundries and other technology partners (e.g. design tool vendors & IP vendors) along with maintenance/update of technology-related documentations.
  • Develop & validate PDK for advanced semiconductor process technology (CMOS, SiGe BiCMOS, and III-V FET/HBT) including, but not limited to, foundry process review, PDK review & analysis, process characterization & variability analysis including layout dependent effects, SPICE model (DC to microwave) development, reliability model development, and IC design methodology development.
  • Design test structure for device characterization and modeling. Develop accurate & reliable RF/MW measurement systems (up to ~100GHz) including RF calibration & de-embedding structures and methodology.
  • Contribute to IC/product design reviews, tape-out reviews, and post tape-out processing such as mask data review, initial process control/monitoring, and logistic control/management.
  • Work with foundry technology teams to review and analyze process variability/reliability data. Also work with foundry teams to conduct design of experiments for each product qualification.

Required Skills:

  • Good understanding & knowledge of semiconductor device physics, electromagnetic theory, circuit design, and advanced process technology.
  • Experience in process integration (CMOS, BiCMOS or III-V), semiconductor device design & characterization is strong plus.
  • Experience in SPICE device modeling, SPICE circuit simulation, high-frequency (RF/MW) measurements and/or electromagnetic simulation is strong plus.
  • Ph.D. or MS degree in EE or related 3+ years industrial experience in semiconductor device engineering is plus.
