SUMMARY: Under general supervision, the CAD Technician will perform a wide-variety of mapping and engineering support activities such as updating and/or creating maps, designing drawings using geographic information systems (GIS) or computer aided design (CAD) technology; conducting research; reading and interpreting maps, blueprints, survey documents, or sketches; proofing or comparing the information contained on maps/drawings with information from different sources; measuring distances, areas, perimeters, and angles; and uses computer applications to enter, query information.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Candidate must produce various types of drawings that include site plans, equipment layouts and details, elevation views of site/equipment, schematics and grounding details.
Candidate must be able to produce drawings from sketches, mark-ups, existing as-builts, site maps, photos, field notes and existing AutoCAD drawings (when available).
Candidate is expected to be a self-starter, ability to perform duties with only limited supervision and be a cooperative team player.
Candidate must be able to complete drawing packages in timely manner while maintaining a high level of quality, accuracy, and professionalism.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
Preferred Drafting/Design in Architecture or Engineering field with 1 year experience or Associates Degree related to such fields.
Telecommunications Experience (Desired, not required).
3+ years of CAD drafting experience and Telecom experience strongly preferred
Proficient in AutoCAD 2013 or newer, MS Office, Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Photoshop is a plus!
Ability to operate a plotter.
High Level of Organization and Scheduling Abilities.
