Job Description:

The Electrical Project Manager will oversee all aspects of a solar project installation including but not limited to the following responsibilities:

 
  • Preparing and administering contracts documents & drawings. Developing and administering project budgets, schedules, and performance standards. Preparing and delivering project presentations to the management team
  • Identifying, procuring and allocating all aspects of the project requirements including: permits, materials and labor to complete the installation. Maintain project notes and records for safe-keeping
  • Coordinating the installations and ongoing maintenance activities by working directly with client, engineer, architect, utility company, authority having jurisdiction, inspectors, subcontractors and the home office
  • Providing and developing project schedule (GANTT) and revising weekly as appropriate to meet needs of project
  • Keeping abreast of and considering requirements due to production requirements, need for operational and efficiency improvements, technological advancements, and other Company directed performance and reporting requirements

 

Job Qualifications:

The following are the minimum qualifications and essential functions for this position:
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’ s degree or equivalent) with 5 years of electrical construction project management experience (commercial preferred); however, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration
  • A thorough understanding of the National Electric Code (NEC) & a willingness to take classes to continue educating oneself in changes to the NEC
  • Ability to read and interpret complex business and /or technical documents: including but not limited to blueprints, electrical wiring diagrams, and architectural drawings
  • Ability to write comprehensive reports and detailed business correspondence
  • Ability to work with groups of people such as other departments and communicate known concepts
  • Ability to present to groups of departments
  • Ability to solve equations, apply technical mathematical concepts, and perform complex computations. Specialized field specific engineering mathematics highly desired
  • Ability to solve problems with a variety of concrete variables through semi-standardized solutions that require some ingenuity and analysis. Ability to draw inferences and follow prescribed and detailed procedures to solve moderately complex problems
  • Job environment includes often sitting at a desk or table as well as being on-site in plant/field/construction site. May also need to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel and climb steps
  • Light lifting may be required using arms/hands
  • May be required to wear personal protective equipment including but not limited to: safety glasses, hearing protection, safety shoes, and protective clothing
  • Proficiency in speaking, comprehending, reading and writing in the English language is required
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills; ability to conduct a “ crucial conversation”
