Essential Accountabilities:

  • Convert customer requirements into a well-defined control system architecture.
  • Create operational manuals for HMIs.
  • Create training manuals for system turnover.
  • Test, commission and start-up of mechanical, electrical and controls systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create, design and program HMIs and PLCs.
  • Attend kick-off meetings in order to verify that no noticeable deviations from standard and pre-determined guidelines are occurring.
  • Generate performance specifications for controls systems.
  • Design, implement and support PLC controlled electrical machinery over a worldwide territory.
  • Design, create and publish with both SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
  • Program in functional block diagrams or sequential function charts.
  • Troubleshoot controls systems in person and remotely.
  • Assist technicians in troubleshooting systems.
  • Assumes daily activities of Engineering Manager during planned or unplanned absences.
  • Identify more effective solutions for EPU design/build.
  • Identify solutions for more effective and efficient work flow.
  • Simplify and standardize programming, drawings and sequencing.


  • 3-5 years’ experience in controls engineering.
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (preferred).
  • Familiar with AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
  • Multiple software platform knowledge (CodeSYS, SowMachine, Step7, etc.)
  • Microsoft Office Proficient.
  • Knowledge of networking and understanding of IP network engineering, wired and wireless networks.
  • Good knowledge of variable frequency drives.
  • Knowhow of ABB and Schneider platform is a plus.
  • HMI interfacing.
  • Ability to apply the industry specific fabrication, manufacturing, and welding codes and standards.

  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends as required, sometimes on short notice.


  • Approximately +- 15%.
  • First 2 months – 50-75% in Cumming, Georgia.
