Quality Field Engineer

The Quality Field Engineer is responsible to provide technical feedback pertaining to warranty claims.  This individual will work in close relationship with the Product Development Team or Plant Engineer. Supports dealer network to assist in trouble shooting to reduce replacements when advise and/or permitted.

Main Responsibilities:

Manage defective material analysis flow (pick up, first level analysis, shipment, second level analysis monitoring, root cause and supporting evidence)

  • Produce monthly reports with trend indicators used for monthly KPI monitoring
  • Collaborate with product development on the claims related to functions of MM system
  • Collaborate with supplier quality as needed
  • Obtain supplier 8D and monitor corrective actions and implementation
  • Support the team during the customer audit
  • Weekly interaction and warranty part retrieval from FCA Quality Engineering Center (QEC)
  • Catalog and inventory warranty parts
  • Update and maintain internal metrics for all returns
  • Notify responsible Program Manager (PM) to new or outstanding concerns
  • Perform first level analysis
  • Update FCA Part Return Analysis System (PRAS)
  • Develop and maintain root cause analysis and 8D documentation
  • Prepare shipping documentation if required and develop internal QUARTA intervention ticket
  • Prepare and manage bi-weekly warranty presentations
  • Follow open issues by methods of statistical tracking
  • Support product re-flash events as needed
  • Perform other tasks as assigned

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited university is required (EE / CS preferred)


  • Experience in electronics / technical assembly
  • Experience in product quality, process quality, customer quality
  • Working with automotive OEMs and Tier One suppliers
