The Business Development Manager is a highly organized, creative and friendly individual poised to help grow and develop the company’s robust network of clients and prospects. The Business Development Manager supports the CEO and executive team on sales initiatives, strategy and presentations with a monthly goal of growing and expanding the Company’s reach and network within the events, experiential, entertainment and activation industries. Monthly goals based on new client outreach, in-person client meetings and presentations and Company introductory calls will be used as tangible results to measure success. 


Responsibilities

·      Develop and oversee quarterly and annual business development and sales goals for the firm, targeting key prospects, companies and industries relevant to JJLA’s experience and direction.

·      Identify and target new clients and prospects for the business based on company’s quarterly and annual goals.

·      Create and design innovative and inspiring sales tools, making suggestions to enhance the event’s success

·      Prepare, supervise and manage sales pitches and prospective event budgets

·      Source and negotiate with vendors and suppliers

·      Lead new business negotiations with prospective clients

·      Design and lead promotional activities for the Company

·      Lead all new business design and presentation materials and pitches, including overseeing the creation of vibe boards, creative decks, creative briefs, renderings and illustrations, ensuring these are completed in adequate timelines established by prospective clients

·      Be comfortable on the phone and email, enough to be self-disciplined to lead new business cold calls, company introductions and new business meetings with contacts outside of the Company’s network

·      Develop sales goals based on calls, introductions and meetings to derive tangible success results

·      Maintain effective prospect communication, ensuring prospect is briefed on all aspects of the event and our sales process, understands and approves all estimates, and has regularly scheduled meetings during and after the event

·      Lead new business and pitch presentations for new clients and new events as requested and required

·      Manage client and account relationships during and in between events to ensure client retention and growth

·      Maintain accurate and complete event, project and client files, organizing all event orders, budget tracking, vendor quotes, approvals and design concepts

·      Lead sales-related team meetings as required per project

·      Represents the company externally with poise and professionalism at events, meetings, conferences and as required by senior management

·      Participate in weekly team meetings, reporting on current projects, and collaborating with colleagues on other projects and events as needed

·      Maintain social media presence of JJLA based on event projects and successes including gathering event photography and videography to be used for social and marketing purposes

·      Oversee marketing materials of JJLA, including print materials, website and other digital listings, to ensure company is up to date and external communications are current

·      Oversee company’s email marketing program, CONFETTI, working with CEO, senior management and event managers on project recaps to ensure the newsletter is targeted

·      Report to CEO


Requirements

·      Proven experience as a sales manager, preference to big brand and creative agency sales

·      Skilled in project management and financial and business operations practices

·      Must be extremely detail-oriented, on-time and accurate

·      Knowledge of KPIs, marketing and promotional techniques for event management, sales and business development

·      Computer savvy; proficient in MS Office and other event-related design software as required

·      Eagerness to learn, explore and develop new skills and broader understanding of event and client needs to strengthen company performance

·      Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; ability to make client presentations and maintain excellent email correspondence

·      Strong negotiation ability

·      Excellent organizational skills

·      A knack for problem-solving and reacting with efficiency and competence, even under strenuous circumstances or stressful situations

·      A creative eye with a knowledge of and interest in design, merchandising and lifestyle

·      A passion for and understanding of live entertainment, including music, film, television, sports, fashion, consumer products and digital media

·      Ability to identify and stay on top of new and emerging trends

·      Customer-service oriented

·      New business savvy with an ability to identify opportunities for client or job growth and help to source and pitch new opportunities for business development purposes

·      A team player with leadership skills, ability to empower others to get the job done

·      BSc/BA in sales, business administration, PR, marketing or related field is preferred

·      Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in a sales role with proven track record
